PHOTOS and VIDEOS! Explore Disney’s Pop Century Resort With Us!

We’ve got a treat for you today!

Disney’s Pop Century Resort

We’re exploring one of Disney World’s value resort options so that you can know EXACTLY what to expect when you book a room there. We’ve already brought you a full room tour, but now we’re taking you through pics and video of ALL of Disney’s Pop Century Resort!

So, come on as we show you around!

This resort represents five different decades, the 1950s, the 1960s, the 1970s, the 1980s, and the 1990s.

Lobby

Let’s kick things off in the hotel lobby, where great Disney vacations start. The lobby at Pop Century has a really neat feature with a gallery wall of shadowboxes!

Lobby Shadow Boxes

The lobby helps to show the years by taking you through shadowboxes holding paraphernalia from all the represented decades!

Lobby Shadow Boxes

If you ever find yourself checking into Pop Century, we definitely recommend perusing the boxes to see what neat items you can find. We especially love the box dedicated to the opening of Walt Disney World!

Everything Pop Shopping and Dining

Connected to the lobby and main check-in area is Everything Pop Shopping and Dining. This location is the main dining and retail location for the resort with some merchandise and a full food court.

Everything Pop Shopping and Dining

The “shopping” part of Everything Pop has a selection of merchandise and items you can find at many of the resort hotel stores.

And there’s Pop Century-specific merchandise as well.

We spotted a neat Tie-Dye Pop Century T-shirt

…and other items like pins, keychains, Christmas ornaments, and toothpick holders.

Plus, you can snag this fun Pop Century Tumbler.

Now, over to the “dining” part of Everything Pop.

This location is a food court-style offering similar to the ones you’ll find in the other Disney World value resorts.

Everything Pop Shopping and Dining

The menu offers classics such as pizza, pasta, burgers, and more. Right now, Mobile Order is heavily encouraged.

We picked up a quick bite before our jaunt around the rest of the resort! Expect standard resort fare like Pepperoni Pizza.

One item that’s pretty unique to this location is the Tie-Dye Cheesecake, filled with super fun colors.

Tie-Dye Cheesecake

This is definitely the restaurant’s most iconic item.

Disney Skyliner Station

Disney’s newest form of transportation, the Disney Skyliner, does have a station located between Pop Century and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. This is a HUGE perk that makes getting around Disney World a whole lot easier.

Skyliner

The Skyliner has lines that head to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Riviera Resort, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and EPCOT.

Atmosphere

So let’s see how the atmosphere of this resort feels! Again, the resort has sections based on the ’50s through the ’90s and you can see that with big statues right when you drive up.

Entrance

The resort borders half of Hourglass Lake with Disney’s Art of Animation on the other half and there’s a 1.3-mile running trail around the whole of the lake.

Running Trail

One super fun detail is that the trail features fun facts on BOTH the Pop Century and the Art of Animation sides.

Running Trail Fun Facts

The different decades each represent different sections of the resort characterized by larger-than-life statues of icons from the time periods. Let’s start by taking a look at the 1990s area! Computers don’t really look like that anymore!

Computer

Wow, and neither do cell phones. Many of the statues double as stairwells.

Cell Phone

Over in the ’80s section we get a taste of our first character statue with Roger Rabbit! What a silly guy. Roger was also part of the view from our room.

Rubik’s cubes were pretty big in the ’80s and they’re even BIGGER here. Get it?

You can also say hi to your two favorite potatoes over in the ’80s.

Hi Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head!

Mrs. and Mr. Potato Head

The ’70s section brings us a HUGE Big Wheel.

Fun fact! You can actually find a weight limit sticker on this sweet ride. The limit is over 800 pounds!

Big Wheel

One of the more fun details at this whole resort is the giant foosball lawn.

You can also spot that the buildings feature icons and dances from their respective decades.

There’s even a permanent Twister board too!

Twister

We love spotting the Mickey statue in this section as he stands on a rotary phone.

Mickey

Some of the stairs in this area are yo-yos and others are 8-tracks.

8-Track

Between the ’60s and ’70s section, you can spot a surfboard-toting Goofy and a cool corvette.

Play-Doh was a MAJOR thing in the ”60s. If you look closely at the animals’ ears you can even see thumbprints from where they were molded into place.

Play Doh

The Jungle Book came out in 1967 so you know Mowgli and Baloo are rocking it up in the 1960s section. This is also the spot that features the main pool at this resort with the Hippy Dippy Pool. The other pools include the Bowling Pool in the ’50s section and the Computer Pool and the ’80s and ’90s area.

Speaking of the ’50s section, the big icons here are Tramp…

…and Lady!

Plus, there’s a VERY cool table-top jukebox featured.

Remember how we mentioned the Bowling Pool?

Bowling is a theme here with a shoe rack…

…and 65-foot bowling pins casing the stairwells!

Guest Rooms

Finally, let’s take a little peek at those guest rooms.

Ready for a little tour?

We stayed in the ’80s building…

…right next to the Computer Pool.

Room View

The standard rooms feature one king bed or two queens with pull-down options for added space.

These are value-sized rooms as well, but still feel spacious enough.

Pop Century Standard Room

And, of course, the decor has a light vintage theme.
