What’s New at EPCOT: Bride Minnie Ears and Festival of the Arts Fun

Ready to go on a virtual trip around EPCOT?

Spaceship Earth

We’re constantly visiting the Disney World theme parks and more to see what’s new. During our most recent visit to EPCOT we spotted NEW Minnie ears, saw that a spot that JUST opened was CLOSED(!!), and got a look at lots of construction going on around the park. Join us for a virtual trip around this experimental prototype community of tomorrow to see all of the things that are new there!

EPCOT Food Updates

Cool Wash

Just a few days ago, we saw that Cool Wash (which is over by Test Track) was OPEN! At the time, the Cast Member told us the location should be open throughout the rest of the Festival of the Arts. At Cool Wash guests can typically get some unique, Create-Your-Own Slushies!

Cool Wash

But, during our most recent trip, we noticed that Cool Wash was not open. We’re not sure why there was such a sudden change. But, this spot is typically only open seasonally, so perhaps it’s not that surprising.

Cool Wash Closed

It looks like Cool Wash may be open or closed depending on the day or time you visit. If visiting Cool Wash is something you want to do, be sure to check whether it’s open and serving guests when you visit.

EPCOT Merchandise Updates

Mouse Gear

In terms of merchandise, at Mouse Gear we found the NEW Minnie Bride Ears. These are have a puffy bow, veil, and eve little pearls!

EPCOT Construction Updates and More

Harmonious

EPCOT is set to get a fabulous NEW nighttime spectacular in the future called Harmonious. We’ve seen quite a few updates about this show recently including some testing going on with some of the tech being used in the show and a behind-the-scenes look at some of the pieces that will be used.

Harmonious Barges

Today, we spotted some of the barges that will be used in the show being worked on.

Harmonious Barge

One of the arms on one of the barges was also being tested and moving around (we’ve seen those arms be tested before as well).

Harmonious Barge

We’re definitely looking forward to seeing more about this show in the future.

The Land Pavilion

Over by the Land pavilion, we spotted some poles and wires in place behind the snack cart there.

Poles and Wires

We’re not exactly sure what this is for, but we’ll be on the lookout for more updates.

Canada

In the Canada pavilion, we saw that the stairs to the upper level were closed off.

Stairs Closed

But, guests could still use the ramp to access the upper level and the shops there.

Taste of EPCOT International Festival of the Arts

The Festival of the Arts is still going on around EPCOT and during our most recent trip, we spotted artists working on some new, beautiful chalk art.

Chalk Art

We’ve seen some seriously incredible chalk art throughout the festival so it was great to see some more.

We also saw a Disney PhotoPass photographer taking some photos over at the Festival of the Arts photo op near Mouse Gear.

So, you can head there to get some great photos of you and your friends and family taken.

If you love to paint, you’ll definitely want to check out the paint by number murals that pop up during the Festival of the Arts. You’ll get to pick up a small amount of paint and contribute to a large piece of art that other guests will work on as well during their visits.

Looking Great!

The mural that was up during our visit was looking great and almost finished when we passed by recently!

Innoventions

Finally, we got a little look at some of the construction going on at Innoventions. As part of the EPCOT Transformation a LOT of things are changing or going away. Here’s a peek at some of the construction going on.

Construction

Just for reference, here’s what that same area looked like not too long ago.

Looks like things are moving forward.

And that’s all for us from EPCOT! We’ll be back at this park and other spots all around Disney World soon to give you all the latest updates. Be sure to look out for more posts from us.
