We’re going to take a little trip today to two Disney World Resort hotels by way of the Disney Skyliner…
Disney’s Art of Animation and Pop Century Resorts are our destinations as we hop around to check out what’s NEW! And, right off the bat, things at Disney’s bright and colorful Art of Animation Resort look a lot different. Like, A LOT…
Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
Art of Animation Refurbishment Updates
If you’re used to seeing the bright and friendly faces of Ariel, Nemo, and Simba greeting you upon arrival at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort (by way of the HUGE Character Pages that create the focal point right up front), then you may be in for a surprise…
The Character Pages were (almost) all ERASED! Well, save for Simba… WHEW!
Thanks for being there for us, buddy!
Of course, we figured this was coming, as we already knew work was being done… and had already noticed Lightning McQueen had vanished the scene and only HALF of Ariel was viewable on our last visit!
So, please “Pardon the Pixie Dust” as the refurbishment work continues…

Work continues on the Big Blue Pool (the Resort’s main pool) as well.
Remember, the work is slated to continue through early April, so guests can plan to visit the Flippin’ Fins Pool and Cozy Cone Pool in the meantime.

Art of Animation Drop Off Pool Bar Updates
The Drop Off Pool Bar was still saying “Cheers” to Valentine’s Day with the True Love’s Kiss: a spiked Strawberry Milkshake!
The bartenders were serving up those sips in the new Cast Member costumes (which we’ll be taking a closer look at during our stop at POP)!
See TONS of new Disney World Cast Member costumes here!
Art of Animation Merchandise Updates
How about a little shopping at the Ink & Paint Shop? It’s here we spotted some newer items that we’ve noticed elsewhere around Disney World. These include the new, updated Snacks with Character (allergy-friendly) options!
And those Are-they-cute-or-are-they-CREEPY smiling character mugs…
You can also find the Enchanted Rose Snow Globe here until that last petal falls!
Up next? POP CENTURY!
Disney’s Pop Century Resort
Pop Century Refurbishment Updates
Yep! Work continues on one of the pools at Pop Century Resort, too! We’re talking about the Hippy Dippy Pool!
Work is slated to last until early March.
Wow… Mickey sure is busy with all the construction!

We also noticed work being done on the huge, signature POP sign which greets guests as they enter the main building from the pool area.
Before you know it, she’s sure to be as shiny as new!
Pop Century Resort Petals Pool Bar Updates
Over at Petals Pool Bar, let’s take a look at those new Cast Member costumes we mentioned earlier.
It’s BLUE for the bartenders in their outdoor wear!
Transportation Reminder
And just a note! The Disney Skyliner is, of course, THE main mode of transportation these days from Art of Animation and Pop Century to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT.
That said, the Skyliner can indeed get busy in the mornings!
So buses are available to both parks in the mornings as well, to lessen some of the longer lines at the Skyliner station as another magical day in the parks begins!
Do you LOVE the Disney Skyliner? Then you’ve GOT to check out the new Dooney & Bourke SKYLINER bags!
And that’s the latest as we check out all the art (or not! ) at Disney’s Art of Animation and as we roll through the decades at Disney’s Pop Century Resort! Thanks for joining us!
