We Have a Love/Hate Relationship with EPCOT’s Flower and Garden Decorations

Welcome back, DFB friends! We’re here with another What’s New at EPCOT!

We’re off to space!

And, we’ve got plenty of updates to share with you! So, what are you waiting for? Let’s dive right on in!

EPCOT Food Update

EPCOT Experience

There are two new brews available at the EPCOT Experience: Unibroue (interesting name choice) and Mana Wheat.

New beer? Yes, please!

We haven’t had a chance to try these out yet, but if we do, we’ll be sure to let you know what we think.

Review: This NEW Beer at Disney World Is the Apple of Our Eye!

Cool Wash

We’ll admit that for a while, we totally forgot about Cool WashIt’s mostly a seasonal joint, but it opened back up a few weeks ago for weekends. And it was open on our latest visit!

Fancy a slushie?

So if you’re at EPCOT on a weekend and want to try one of their custom slushies, you’re in luck! At least until it closes again (and we only know it will for sure be open through the end of Festival of the Arts, which is only a few days away).

Yes, This Disney World Refreshment Stand Still Exists!

EPCOT Merchandise Update

Mouse Gear

Every LADY needs this phone case, like seriously. It’s Marie from The Aristocats!

Marie Phone Case

We also turned up a St. Patrick’s Day Magnet. And although we were totally thinking it was too early for this, the holiday is actually less than a month away! We also saw this magnet in Magic Kingdom!

Time to get our Irish on

We’re sorry, guys, because the quote on this magnet gets us emotional. We Love You 3000, too!

This quote makes us cry

Starbucks Tumblers? You want Starbucks Tumblers? They are here! That includes the Cinderella Castle one that’s now a little outdated.

So many tumblers…

So if you need drinkware, you know where to get it.

What Do You Get When You Cross Star Wars, Dad Jokes, and Mugs?

Mission Space Cargo Bay

We’re seeing The Mandalorian Streetwear collection everywhere now, especially The Child BeanieWe previously spotted this one at Animal Kingdom! It’s $19.99.

Sweet Baby Yoda on a beanie

Oh, look, Stitch Mugs! The old ones are on the left and the slightly creepy new ones are on the right.

Stitch Mugs

At least you have a choice in which mug you prefer!

We STILL Don’t Know What to Think of Disney’s Creepy Character Mugs

EPCOT Entertainment Update

Flower and Garden Topiaries

We’re less than two weeks away from the start of the EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival, and we are thrilled to see all the topiaries start to take shape in the park! We’ve seen a few pretty plants and flowers pop up with butterfly topiaries appearing in EPCOT. Now, there are plenty more characters being added to the mix of decorations (some more creepy than cute).

Bambi Topiaries

Future World West was showing off Woody, Bo Peep, and her sheep looking like a picturesque family…

Toy Story Topiaries

…while the World Showcase received a LOT of topiaries for guests to admire. The UK Pavilion had areas dedicated to Winnie the Pooh and his friends…

…Hook and Peter Pan having an epic standoff…

…and Tinker Bell casting some magic over the festival. But whoa…is it just us or are the eyes on these things creepy?

Norway, on the other hand, showed off the famous Frozen sisters as Elsa and Anna looked as gorgeous as ever.

We’re never going to Let It Go, Elsa!

The Troll topiaries in Norway are also a LOT of fun.

Issa’ troll!

Over in the China Pavilion, there are even pandas rolling in the flowers and grass as they have an afternoon snack. Have you ever seen anything so stinkin’ adorable in your life?!

We’ll update you as more topiaries enter EPCOT for the next festival.

Um, Disney, we still don’t know how we feel about plants having eyeballs!

Harmonious

Disney has continued to test the screens and barges as Harmonious construction moves forward. We’ve been keeping up with all the details that we can as we get a behind-the-scenes look at the progress and even see the first few set pieces.

Harmonious Construction

We noticed that there have been additional barges being worked on recently as they add the arms are tested and additional equipment is transported over the World Showcase Lagoon.

Construction Barge

Since Harmonious will be one of the largest nighttime spectaculars ever featured in a Disney World park, there’s still a LOT of work to be done.

But, we’re sure that it will be an absolute gem when Disney World’s 50th anniversary celebrations kick off and it has its official debut!

EPCOT Construction Update

Future World Waterways

EPCOT has experienced a quick switcharoo over the past few days as EPCOT’s waterways were drained in Future World West and then swiftly refilled once again, like it never even happened. Earlier in the week, the water level had been lowered with rocks on the bottom exposed.

Drained Waterway

Within a day, though, the waterways had been refilled once again with the rocks now completely covered. Cast Members notified us that the water could be drained for pipe work or that the waterways were drained for additional flower or water features in the park.

Waterways Being Refilled

And, now that the Flower and Garden Festival is just around the corner, Disney has been making additions to the decorations park-wide. We’ll have to keep you updated if there are any other additional changes to the waterways or if they are drained another time!

Well, that’s all for this What’s New at EPCOT! We’ll catch you next time for more updates. And, if you have any questions about your upcoming Disney vacation, let us know so we can help you find the answers!
