A Classic Magic Kingdom Ride Has Temporarily Closed

Construction has been happening left and right in Disney World with scrims up at Peter Pan’s Flight and waterways being drained (and then refilled less than 24 hours later).

And, now another popular Magic Kingdom attraction has closed to conduct routine maintenance and refurbishment through the beginning of March!

The Mad Tea Party in Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland is pausing its teacups as it closes today for a temporary amount of time.

No spinning temporarily

If you’re a fan of puke-inducing rides, we’re sorry to disappoint you. You won’t be able to spend 90 seconds spinning round and round in ginormous teacups if you’re visiting in the next few weeks. But, Mad Hatter made sure to leave a note because the party isn’t over — we’ll party again soon!

All good parties end with your head spinning, right?

Disney World’s website noted the refurbishment on its calendar with the official start date listed for today, February 22nd

…with the attraction expected to open on March 5th, hopefully. But, there has been plenty of refurbishment extensions recently as we wait for PeopleMover to reopen too. So, we’ll have to keep you updated on if the Mad Tea Party’s refurbishment runs as expected!

We’ll be sure to give you a look at all the other construction happening around the parks before your next Disney vacation. Stay tuned with DFB for more details!
