PHOTOS: Magic Kingdom Is 100% Us When We Try To Tackle a House Project

Welcome back, DFB friends! Today we’re back at Disney’s Magic Kingdom with another what’s new!

Magic Kingdom

And, we’ve got some updates on Cinderella Castle’s renovations and plenty of new merchandise to share with you. So, what are you waiting for? Let’s jump right on in!

Magic Kingdom Construction Update

Cinderella Castle

So many things around Walt Disney World are getting a bit TLC right now. First, it was Rivers of America, and now the moat around Cinderella Castle is COMPLETELY DRAINED! It’s almost like staring at the bottom of our Dole Whip cup after we’ve licked it clean but less delicious.

We’re not sure what kind of work they’re doing in the area, but it’s definitely something!

Check out more photos of the drained moat HERE!

And, just like a house project, if you’re going to tackle one thing on the list, why not just start them all?! Last week, mysterious bushes showed up in front of Cinderella Castle doing a poor job at hiding some gray-colored scrim that was added to the stage.

We knew they were doing some work on the stage. But yesterday, Disney took that work a step further.

Cinderella Castle Stage Underway

The stage floor has been pulled to reveal some of the plywood that supports all the singing and dancing that goes on. Again, we’re not sure exactly what’s going on here and what Disney’s doing, but it could be in preparation for Cinderella Castle’s glow-up for the Walt Disney World 50th anniversary celebrations.

And that’s not all… . Scrim is also up around the train station and Peter Pan’s Flight.

Projects are literally popping up all over the place.

Magic Kingdom Merchandise Update

Uptown Jewelers

We had to take a break from all the investigation work to do some shopping and we spotted something that Cinderella really could have used at the ball — a watch! The Cinderella Watch and Pin Set is out in celebration of 70 years of watching the princess run down the stairs without her glass slipper. While the set’s not new, we had to share it because it’s so stunning.

The watch face has the horse-drawn carriage with a blue band and the pin is the larger version of the pumpkin-turned-carriage. We think it could make a nice brooch too! This set is pricey though, coming in at $550 which has to be comparable to the cost of a literal glass slipper, right?

Emporium

Dogs and retro TVs collide on the new 101 Dalmatians mug. We’ve spotted (ha, get it) this mug around other parks, and found it in the Emporium as well!

The dalmatian pups are peeping over the TV for some caffeine and also serve as a creative mug handle!

Even pups crave some caffeine

We get it, we love coffee too!

Sir Mickey’s

Disney’s new animated movie Raya and the Last Dragon will debut on Disney+ Premiere Access and in theaters next week on March 5th. And, it’s never been Disney’s style to make us wait for souvenirs from a new movie so Raya and her band of misfits have exploded onto the scene at Disney World. Over at Sir Mickey’s, we spotted a lot of the new goodies!

‘Raya and the Last Dragon’ Merchandise

There’s a t-shirt, action figures, a Raya plush, and even Raya’s sword. Doesn’t that sword look a lot like a dragon? hmm…. .

‘Raya and the Last Dragon’ Toy

Beyond all the new merchandise, Disney has introduced other new experiences themed after the movie over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Disney Dropped a TON of ‘Raya and the Last Dragon’ Merchandise Online Too!

And that’s it for what’s new at Magic Kingdom! We hope you enjoyed walking through the park with us and stay tuned for more Disney news and updates!
