The Best Value Meal at EPCOT is Actually a Kids’ Meal – at Katsura Grill

With the lack of the Disney dining plan you may be looking for ways to stretch your dollar. One way to save a little money and still get fed is to turn to the kids’ menu at many dining locations at Walt Disney World. But, some kids’ meals bring more value than others. One of our favorites at EPCOT can be found at Katsura Grill.

At the Japan Pavilion, Katsura Grill is a fantastic quick service location. The atmosphere blends traditional with modern. The interior dining room feels communal and open, while the two outdoor dining areas are surrounded my lush landscaping and Zen garden elements. Mobile ordering is not available at this location.

We have ratings and ranking for all Walt Disney World restaurants and Katsura Grill has an 87% thumbs up rating from our subscribers, and it is ranked at #46 of 107 quick service locations. It is definitely for those that love traditional Japanese flavors, but presented in approachable dishes. The menu has lots of teriyaki and steamed rice, as well as udon noodles, and a few sushi offerings. There are some specialty beverages here too.

Certainly the kids’ portions are smaller than the adults’, but not by much. The amount of rice and vegetables is nearly the same. The protein serving is noticeably smaller. Still, our field team was satisfied with the kids’ meal portion, plus the drink and cookie. If you are very hungry the adult meals are large enough to be shared, and you could add on a side such as edamame for $4.00 or miso soup for $3.00 to stretch your meal without going overboard in price.

For comparison here is an adult entrée purchased on a different visit.
