Here’s Where You Can Expect to See Construction While in Disney World

Welcome to this week’s construction updates from Disney World!

Disney World

We’re giving you a look at the latest updates on the projects underway throughout the Disney World Parks and Resorts. There’s a LOT going on as we approach the 50th Anniversary, so let’s check it all out.

Magic Kingdom

Peter Pan’s Flight

At the classic Fantasyland attraction, Peter Pan’s Flight, a themed scrim is still in place surrounding the buildings.

We can barely tell the difference 😉

We still think this look is much better than the previous brown scrim, but we’d (unsurprisingly) prefer to see the building itself. Hopefully, once all this refurbishment is finished, Peter Pan’s Flight will be looking better than ever.

Cinderella Castle

Cinderella Castle is getting ready for its makeover! The surrounding moat remains drained as work takes place in preparation for all the exciting updates.

Very empty moat

An update on the work taking place at the castle stage shows the addition of ice and water shields, which are the coverings you can see.

Castle Stage

Although Cinderella Castle hasn’t been looking super magical recently, it did receive the first feature of its 50th Anniversary Makeover! This pretty gold, purple, and blue decoration can be seen on the left side of the castle.

We can’t wait to see more decorations covering the castle!

Gaston’s Tavern

Because Gaston wants his tavern to be the BEST in the kingdom, it was time for a little sprucing up. The sign at Gaston’s Tavern recently got a fresh coat of paint!

Nice and fresh!

This week, the fountain in front of the tavern was drained

No one stands in a drained fountain like Gaston

Then, when we returned over the weekend, the fountain had been refilled.

Just another way to woo Belle, we suppose.

EPCOT

Harmonious

A large crane held construction workers as they worked on the main centerpiece of EPCOT’s upcoming nighttime show, Harmonious.

Harmonious Construction

Later that same day, we saw one of the Harmonious barges testing some water effects! The barge’s arm can be seen spraying a curtain of water above the lagoon and the barge itself.

In this close-up, you can see Cast Members standing on the lower deck of the barge.

We can’t wait to see what other special effects this massive show will offer!

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind

It’s business as usual over at the site of EPCOT’s upcoming indoor coaster, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. More blue paneling is being added to the exterior of the attraction.

We wish we could see what was going on inside!

Disney Resorts

Polynesian Village Resort

Over at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, the previously demolished monorail station is getting rebuilt.

Work at the Monorail Station

Although there’s still quite a ways to go, a lot of progress has been made at this site.

There’s a lot going on here

We’ll be keeping a close eye on construction as the resort approaches its summer reopening date.

Pop Century Resort

The Hippy Dippy Pool at Disney’s Pop Century Resort had previously been closed for refurbishment. Now, it’s been refilled and it’s back up and running!

Good day for a swim

When we stopped by, lots of guests were splashing around!

See more photos of the reopened pool here!

Beach Club Resort

Refurbishment continues on the exterior of Disney’s Beach Club Resort. However, it doesn’t appear that anything major is taking place.

What’s going on here?

And that’s our round-up of construction updates from the week! Check back with us for more news from Disney World.
