Disney World may be magical, but that doesn’t mean it’s perfect! Sometimes rides are temporarily closed for technical or other issues and they sometimes need to be evacuated.

Earlier this week, 5 EPCOT attractions were ALL closed at the same time. Recently, we also shared a look at 2 Disney World rides that have been closed for OVER a year. And now, a super popular Magic Kingdom ride has been evacuated and is temporarily closed!
Earlier today, we were walking around Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom and we noticed quite a few people outside of Magic Kingdom’s 3 big mountains — Space Mountain. That’s when we learned that both Space Mountain…

…and the shop next to it, Tomorrowland Power & Light Co., were being evacuated.

Disney evacuated the queue for Space Mountain as well.

We spoke to a Cast Member who said they couldn’t disclose what happened that caused the evacuation. The Cast Member did note, however, that it would be at least 2 hours before the ride would be available again. We spoke to that Cast Member around 1:00PM ET. As of about 2:00 ET, Space Mountain still appears as “temporarily closed” on the My Disney Experience app.
