Disney World Crowd Calendar Update for April 2021

The April Crowd Calendar update only has minor changes. We are halfway through spring break, and crowd levels have been in-line with what we have expected. Any increase in attendance has been offset with increased ride capacity. Increased ride capacity has been possible by Disney adding plexiglass between rows or just allowing more people on ride vehicles.

To our knowledge, Disney is still operating at 35% capacity. We are not going to see any huge increase in crowd levels until capacity is increased. I suspect the increased capacity will not happen until all cast members are able to get a COVID-19 vaccine.

The TouringPlans crowd levels are based on wait times at select attractions. The scale that converts wait times to crowd levels are the same as they were pre-pandemic. So a crowd level “5” today will have similar wait times as a “5” in 2019.

Until Disney announces a capacity increase we don’t know when we will see higher crowd levels. Predictions several months out are likely to change. The Historic Crowd Calendar is a good place to look to see what “normal” crowd levels were pre-pandemic.
