This vaccine rollout is moving at a speedy pace — earlier this month, we reported that all adults would be eligible for their shot about a week and a half earlier than the original goal. States such as Florida have already given those ages 16 and up access to the vaccine. And now, the rest of the country will follow suit.

President Joe Biden has announced that starting Monday, April 26th, all Americans ages 16 and up will be eligible to get the COVID-19 vaccine. 16- and 17-year-olds will receive the Pfizer shot, which is the only vaccine currently approved for use under the age of 18.

This comes as over 200 million vaccinations have been administered across the country, with 26% of Americans fully vaccinated. 40% of the country has received 1 dose.

The CDC has announced that fully vaccinated individuals can travel safely throughout the United States, but the Department of State has issued travel advisories for 80% of countries around the world, discouraging international travel.
