Is the Wait for the PeopleMover as Long as it Seems in Disney World?

After over a year of being closed, the PeopleMover FINALLY reopened yesterday.

It feels good to be back!

Of course, we were in Magic Kingdom keeping an eye on the situation and hopping aboard for our own grand tour of Tomorrowland. And if you’re hoping to go for a ride, there’s a handy little tip you’ll want to keep in mind!

Our beloved PeopleMover is officially back on the My Disney Experience app’s wait times list! And that wait is lookin’ pretty hefty at 40 minutes. But all is NOT as it appears…

A PeopleMover Cast Member informed us that the line was probably 30-40 minutes long. But guys…we’ve ridden this a LOT since it’s reopened. And the wait time is simply not as long as it’s being quoted! For example, we’d estimate that 30-40 minute wait is more like 15-20 minutes.

There’s a line!

On opening day, our “35 minute” wait was actually just 15. Keep in mind that this is a constantly moving ride (ya know, except when it stops…and it often does), so that line should inch forward consistently. Even with social distancing, you’ll find yourself scooting to the front pretty quickly! So while people seem SUPER excited to ride the PeopleMover again, and there are definitely crowds, you shouldn’t be waiting too long.

It has been WAY too long!

While we can’t guarantee that the line is shorter than listed, we’re gonna say it’s a pretty safe bet. So you should be on and off the ride pretty quickly! Here’s hoping you’ll be able to feel the breeze and hear that iconic soundtrack again soon. Stay tuned to DFB for more Disney news!
