Disney has got a lot of in-progress projects, some of which were delayed due to the global health crisis.

We’re looking forward to visiting TONS of new restaurants like Space 220, La Creperie de Paris, and Roundup Rodeo BBQ. Well, one upcoming Disney Springs restaurant has been on pause for some time — but work may be resuming.

Beatrix is a coffeehouse and healthy eating restaurant combo that was announced back in 2019. Construction has been paused since July 2020 and earlier this month, a spokesperson confirmed that the restaurant has been delayed (but not canceled!).

Now, it seems the gears might be turning to get Beatrix open once more. A few days ago, Disney filed a building permit with Beatrix Orlando for the construction of a “full service restaurant consisting of approx. 18,500 [square feet] indoor and outdoor seating.”

Wow! That certainly sounds like work could start soon on the whole restaurant facility! The permit was filed with Hoar Construction, a contractor that typically does larger projects in Disney World (They worked on Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway!).

A SUPER interesting piece of info is that the permit has an expiration date (the day the work is expected to be complete) of April 15th, 2023. Wow! That’s a long time from now! Could it really be two years until we get to give Beatrix a try? Maybe!
