REVIEW: How Does Disney World’s New Pulled Pork Mac Stack Up Against Flame Tree BBQ?

It’s the start of another wonderful week in Disney World! And, you know that means there are new drinks and snacks calling our names throughout the parks and resorts!

This lobby gets us every time

We recently brought you with us to give you updates on what’s new at some of the Disney World resorts, but today we visited Disney’s Wilderness Lodge where we tried a NEW menu item!

We hope you’re hungry because the Lumberjack Platter isn’t a meal for the faint of heart! The plate is piled up with pulled pork, macaroni and cheese, corn bread, and coleslaw as the heftiest snack this side of the Wilderness Lodge!

Lumberjack Platter

For $11.99, the Lumberjack Platter fits its name for sure. The serving was HUGE for the price, and it could easily be shared with others. The smallest portion on the plate was the slice of cornbread, while the largest was the pork (a meat lover’s dream).

Anybody Else Practically Drooling?

The coleslaw had a great crunch to it with a kick of flavor and texture to go with the pork and gooey cheese…

Pork, Cheese, Coleslaw, and Corn Bread? Oh My!

…compared to the macaroni that was soft without being overcooked or mushy. The cornbread was even baked well with a soft center, avoiding the woes of bread that’s too dry!

Corn Bread, BB!

We would have liked a bit more of seasoning on the pork, but it was still tender and gave a bit of saltiness to the other standout flavors of the platter.

Pork!!

It wasn’t the absolute BEST BBQ we’ve had in Disney World (Flame Tree‘s still holding out for us), but was an awesome choice for a counter-service meal! If you’re looking for some sort of variety apart from the chicken nuggets and burgers you would find at any other run-of-the-mill restaurant, the Roaring Fork should be towards the top of your list with the Lumberjack Platter during your next visit.

We didn’t spot the platter on the hanging menu in the restaurant…

…but it was available through Mobile Order on My Disney Experience. So, just keep that in mind before you place your order.

Oh, and you could also treat yourself to a s’mores treat for desserts while you’re at the Roaring Fork! That’s a double win to us! 😉 In the meantime, stay tuned with DFB for the latest news and reviews!
