A Disney Parks Executive Has a Message About a CLOSED Animal Kingdom Attraction

Heading over to Disney’s Animal Kingdom today?

Tree of Life

There’s lots to do, from big thrills to tasty treats to character spottings! But if you’re embarking on your wild adventure here today, there’s one thing you may be missin’ out on.

Guests checking out the Animal Kingdom wait times on the My Disney Experience app may receive a pop-up message informing them that Expedition Everest is temporarily unavailable. Now typically, when a ride is down, the app will just state that the attraction is “temporarily closed” instead of providing a wait time. Today, the situation is a little different.

A message from Sarah Riles, Vice President of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, stated that Expedition Everest was “currently unavailable,” but did not provide a timeline for when we can expect it to be back up and runnin’. Now, it’s pretty unusual for this type of message to be sent out about a ride’s closure — but we have seen it happen before. It means today’s closure time could be a bit longer than normal — or something bigger could be going on.

If you’re hoping to hop aboard this train today, we recommend you keep checking your My Disney Experience app to see when the ride is back up. We’ll keep you informed here at DFB, too!
