A major reason I go to Walt Disney World so often is for the amazing food offerings! Unfortunately, all too often, people go to Walt Disney World and do not have fantastic food experiences. I have had many friends tell me they did not eat good food on their Walt Disney World vacation. This usually happens because they unknowingly went to the wrong restaurants. Just because it’s the biggest or busiest restaurant in the park doesn’t mean it will have the best food! Here are my top suggestions for quick-service restaurants to eat at and ones to avoid at Walt Disney World.
Magic Kingdom
Eat Here: Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Café. I’ll be honest, Magic Kingdom food is not the best. Of all 4 parks, this is my least favorite park to dine at. I feel Pecos Bill’s is the best quick service available in Magic Kingdom because the menu is pretty unique, including burgers, nachos, salads, and tacos. In non-Covid times, they also had a toppings bar which allowed you to customize your food!
Not Here: Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café. It pains me to say, but this is not the place to eat. I love the atmosphere at Cosmic Ray’s, and Sonny Eclipse is a personal favorite. Unfortunately, the food at this restaurant is your typical theme park fare of burgers, fries, and chicken nuggets. If you are looking for excellent food in Magic Kingdom, you will be hard-pressed to find it here.
EPCOT
Eat Here: World Showcase. EPCOT is a food lover’s paradise. You honestly can’t go wrong eating in any of the World Showcase quick-service restaurants. My personal favorite quick-service restaurants here are Regal Eagle Smokehouse, Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie, and Pizza al Taglio in the Italy pavilion. There is so much delicious food to discover in World Showcase that I can’t encourage eating here enough.
Not Here: In the past, Electric Umbrella would have been listed as the place to avoid without a doubt. Now that it has closed, I believe the current bottom of the totem pole restaurant in EPCOT is Sunshine Seasons in the Land pavilion. While there are some good food options here, it pales in comparison to World Showcase.
Hollywood Studios
Eat Here: Woody’s Lunchbox. I am a huge fan of the grilled three-cheese sandwich at Woody’s Lunchbox in Hollywood Studios (pictured at top). I really appreciate the other unique food offerings here like Lunchbox Tarts and Mystic Portal Punch as well.
Not Here: PizzeRizzo. I love the Muppets and was excited when this Muppet-themed restaurant opened (although I wasn’t thrilled when it took over Pizza Planet’s restaurant). Unfortunately, the food didn’t improve despite the change in theming. The pizza is extremely doughy with too much crust and breading. Better pizza can be had elsewhere in Walt Disney World (like the Italy pavilion in EPCOT or Pizza Ponte at Disney Springs).
Animal Kingdom
Eat Here: Flame Tree Barbecue. This restaurant, located in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, features a variety of meats like ribs, BBQ pork, and chicken. It smells absolutely incredible when you walk by! My personal favorite here is the BBQ pork fries.
Not here: Restaurantosaurus. More typical theme park food can be found here; burgers, hot dogs, and chicken nuggets. It’s not really anything special.
