It’s almost summer, which means we’re thinking about POOLS!

Some of the most creative sips can be found at The Drop Off Pool Bar at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort! And today, we stopped by to try a new limited-time offering.

Bacon and Bourbon Spiked Shake
This sip’s a vanilla bean milkshake with Jim Beam bourbon, topped with whipped cream and a piece of candied bacon. The rim is dipped in chocolate and bacon bits! Now, we HAVE seen a bourbon and bacon shake in Disney World before, in the form of the classic Smokey Bones that used to be at Trilo-Bites in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The primary difference is that this new one is a vanilla shake instead of chocolate. So we’re interested to see how it compares!

We tend to be a little wary of pre-mixed drinks (because yup, this one comes RIGHT out of the machine), but it was surprisingly strong! And while the bourbon toned down the sweetness, but we still found it nice and refreshing.
This was tasty!
But guys, we’ve got to tell you about that candied bacon. It was SO good! If you’re a candied bacon fan, you’ll definitely want to try this. Plus, that chocolate-bacon rim added a sweet ‘n’ salty element that complemented the rest of those flavors. If you like boozy vanilla milkshakes, you’ll want to go for this. Not into bourbon (or Jim Bean in particular)? You may wanna steer clear. Because you can definitely taste the alcohol!
We’ll take ALL the bacon!
Like with the Smokey Bones, the standout of this drink was that candied bacon. This one certainly was a little heavier on the bourbon, which was a nice contrast to the not-as-strong Smokey Bones. Moral of the story: if you’re missing your bourbon ‘n’ bacon fix, give this a try!
