POSTED WAIT TIME VS. ACTUAL WAIT TIMES AT DISNEY’S MAGIC KINGDOM

Summer time is creeping upon us, and for millions of guests, that means a visit to the Orlando theme parks is in order. In 2018 alone, approximately 75 million people visited Orlando, with the largest influx of individuals attending during the summer and holiday seasons. That number could be drastically different for 2021 due to everything going on, but with everything opening up and people being vaccinated it could possibly happen. With so many people flooding the parks, you may notice wait times for your favorite rides going up. But don’t be deceived, this posted wait times aren’t completely true. With that being said, this may be daunting, but rest assured, we have you covered with some simple facts about the pesky posted wait times at Disney’s Magic Kingdom!

HAUNTED MANSION POSTED TIME

For our first posted wait time vs actual wait time battle, we find ourselves at one of our favorite rides here at the Magic Kingdom and it’s the Haunted Mansion. One thing we do need to say is that this vlog was filmed on Tuesday May 25th, 2021 so posted wait times will be different depending on which day you attend the park. But, upon arrival to the ride itself, the posted wait time for Haunted Mansion was posted for 20 minutes. We got through the line pretty quick, we waited 4 minutes before we entered the stretching room. (The stretching room is not currently running at the moment.) Before, the wait time for Haunted Mansion was 20 minutes but we got into our seats after only waiting 7 minutes. On the movers are great attractions because they are constantly moving, they get people on and get people off as fast as they can! In conclusion, 20 minute posted wait time vs 7 minutes actual wait time.

BIG THUNDER MOUNTAIN POSTED TIME

Second on our wait time vs battle, we find ourselves at Big Thunder Mountain. This ride is again, one of our absolute favorites here at the Magic Kingdom. Upon arrival, the posted wait time for Big Thunder Mountain was again 20 minutes. When we go through these ques, we are timing how long it takes on a timer with our phones. Throughout the line of Big Thunder Mountain, there used to be interactive elements but they are no longer there and you don’t really need them if the line is moving quickly. We arrived at the loading dock while only waiting 8 minutes and 25 seconds. But, we didn’t actually board the ride itself until 10 minutes. In conclusion, 20 minute posted wait time vs 10 minutes actual wait time.

PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN POSTED TIME

Last but not least, we ended our vs day with a ride on Pirates of the Caribbean. Upon arrival, the posted wait time for Pirates of the Caribbean was 35 minutes. It felt amazing to be back on Pirates of the Caribbean but the only thing was the actual wait was 40 minutes but posted at 35 minutes. After we got in, the posted wait time at the back of the line changed to 45 minutes but the posted wait time at the front of the line stayed at 35 minutes. In conclusion, we waited just in between the 2 posted wait times. 35-45 minute posted wait time vs 40 minute actual wait time.
