ALL the Rides and Hotels Undergoing Refurbishment in Disney World Next Week

We’re used to seeing a little construction in Disney World, as they’re constantly working to improve the rides, attractions, and resorts in the parks!

Construction in Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Here’s a look at everything that we’re expecting to see closed for refurbishments in Disney World this week!

We bring you a report of the refurbishments in Disney World each week so that you can be prepared for what might be closed (or just a l’il dusty and inconvenient) in the parks during your trip! Here’s the list for refurbishments for the week of July 5th through July 11th!

Disney’s Magic Kingdom

This one’s the biggie this week: we’re seeing that the Walt Disney World Railroad, The Hall of Presidents, and the Main Street Confectionery will all continue to be closed for refurbishment this week.

Walt Disney World Railroad

On your way in to the Magic Kingdom, you might notice that the Walt Disney World Railroad Station is looking a little bit odd these days…

Main Street U.S.A. Main Street Station Scrims

…that’s because it’s made out of scrims! For now, anyway! Construction on the upcoming ride TRON Lightcycle Run in Tomorrowland has interrupted the railroad in that area, so the train is not running at this time.

Take a look at the Main Street Station’s makeover here!

The Hall of Presidents

Another big attraction in Magic Kingdom that’s down for now is the Hall of Presidents. This is a planned refurbishment so that Imagineers can install the new President Joe Biden animatronic.

The Hall of Presidents

The Hall of Presidents closes each time a new president is inaugurated in order to add them to the attraction, so this refurbishment came as no surprise! So far, Disney has not announced a reopening date for the attraction.

Main Street Confectionery

This isn’t a ride, but it is an iconic part of Magic Kingdom — the Main Street Confectionery is closed right now because it’s getting a pretty major facelift!

The home of Disney’s sweetest treats!

We’re seeing walls up around this location right now, and there isn’t a confirmed date for its reopening yet!

No gettin to the candy here

But no need to panic! You can grab your Disney Confectionery needs over at the Main Street Cinema!

We’ll hop over to EPCOT now to check out what refurbishments are going on there!

EPCOT

If you’re in EPCOT, it might feel like there are construction walls on every side! The park is getting a big update right now, with some new rides coming soon and a new Moana-inspired attraction under construction near the entrance. But as far as existing attractions that are closed right now, there’s just one — Canada Far and Wide in Circle-Vision 360.

Canada Far and Wide

Canada Far and Wide is a 360-degree film about Canada’s natural beauty and wonders. It’s been closed since June 27th, and Disney hans’t yet announced an opening date for the theater.

We’ll keep you posted when Disney announces the film’s returning date!

Now we’re going to head out of the parks to see a couple of exciting refurbishments happening at two of Disney World’s resorts!

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort has been under construction for a while now, as the resort gets a full makeover! There will be changes to the entrance, lobby, monorail station, and rooms!

Monorail Station

We’re super excited to see the new Moana-inspired guest rooms! The new Polynesian Resort rooms are available starting July 19th, and you can make a reservation for them now!

Because of the construction, the monorail station at Polynesian Resort is closed for now. So if you’re heading to ‘Ohana (opening July 9th!) or Captain Cook’s for some delicious Polynesian-style food, you’ll need different transportation!

Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Disney’s Contemporary Resort is undergoing a BIG refurbishment right now! The main tower rooms are getting an update, and you really need to check out the new Incredibles theme that’s coming to the resort!

For now, though, there’s a lot of construction going on at this resort! We’re expecting the room refurbishment to be finished this September.

Contemporary Resort Construction

Yeah…the walls don’t usually look like that. And The Wave Restaurant in the Contemporary Resort got some FOMO with all the construction going on around it, so it’ll be closed for a reimagining this month.

There are quite a few changes coming to the Contemporary!
