Say What?! You Can Add BOOZE to an Eclair in Disney World!

If you know anything about Florida, then you’ll know there is a history between citrus fruits, like oranges, that play right into the state’s entertainment, food offerings, and more!

Amorette’s

And, that’s why Disney World has its own special connection with the Florida Citrus Commission, who helped bring the ever-famous Orange Bird to life in the parks. So, it’s no surprise that Disney Springs is going all out for the Flavors of Florida event with a Key lime milkshake, Key lime donut, watermelon Dole Whip, Key lime cookies, Orange Blossom Cupcake, and more! Of course, we couldn’t resist heading back for another taste of the ongoing event…but, this treat wasn’t what we expected!

Amorette’s Patisserie is home to a bakery case full of treats for guests of all ages to enjoy. And, the Florida Sunset Éclair is the newest dessert on the menu with a mixture of Blood Orange Mousse, Dulce De Leche Mousse, Infused Orange Liquor, Candied Orange Zest, and Crispy Pearls on top.

Florida Sunset Eclair

And, while that might seem like a LOT of orange (like a lot), the citrus flavors weren’t the most prominent. As a matter of fact, the dulce de leche and caramel flavors were the boldest as they tilted the scales towards the sweet side of a pastry.

Doesn’t It Look Amazing?

However, when we did taste the orange, the mousse was absolutely incredible! It was fluffy a tangy kick that added to the dessert. The orange liquor did need to be poked in and spread throughout each bite. But, be warned — if you squeeze it all out at once, it’s TOO much liquor per bite!

Dulce de Leche and Citrus

Compared to regular éclairs that are usually filled with custard and chocolate, Amorette’s citrus version was a welcome twist that was great for the summertime! Still, if you aren’t a fan of dulce de leche or caramel (or even citrus in general for that matter), you might want to skip the Florida Sunset Éclair for one of the other MANY treats in the bakery case!

Will You Be Heading to Disney Springs Soon?
