In case you didn’t hear, Disney’s Polynesian Resort is going through some HUGE changes this year! The entire front of the resort is being overhauled, rooms are being rethemed to Moana, it seems like everything is changing!
With so many big changes coming to the Polynesian and the reopening date just around the corner, it isn’t surprising that one of the bigger projects at the resort still needs a little bit more time before it’s ready!
When Disney announced that the Poly would be reopening, they shared that the Polynesian Monorail station will NOT be finished in time for the resort’s reopening! The new monorail, which was built from the ground up, still has a ways to go before it’s ready to reopen! Sadly, this also means that the new grand entrance won’t be ready for reopening either!
However, other transport options like buses, walking paths, etc. would still be available! If you’re looking to ride the Monorail while you’re at the Polynesian, head over to the Transportation and Ticket Center or the Grand Floridian Resort Monorail Stations, both are within walking distance!
While we wait, we do have concept art of what the new entrance will look like when everything is complete! We’re excited to see the resort when everything is up and running!
The Polynesian Resort is set to open on July 19th with most of its refurbishments done! The new Polynesian rooms will be themed after Moana and you’ll find plenty of references to the movie throughout the resort! These new rooms are available to book now!
Although the Monorail station might be closed for a little while longer, we’re glad that ‘Ohana is back at the Polynesian! The resort’s breakfast and dinner spot has tons of delicious food!
So for now, we’ll enjoy some ‘Ohana noodles and await the arrival of the resort’s new Monorail station!
We did recently get an update on the EPCOT monorail reopening, which could hint at when the Poly monorail could be complete! We’re always keeping up with the latest Disney news! Stick around here for more!
