REVIEW: The Brunch Game in This Disney World Restaurant is STRONG.

Welcome back to the wonderful Wine Bar George in Disney Springs!

Wine Bar George

This is one of our FAVORITE Disney World spots because of its fun atmosphere, great service, delicious food, and a wonderful selection of over 140 wines. Owned and operated by Master Sommelier George Miliotes (the former sommelier of California Grill), this restaurant is a gem for foodies and Disney lovers alike! On May 29th, the restaurant’s brunch offering came back! So, we HAD to return to Wine Bar George (WBG) to check out the Wine Country Brunch!

Atmosphere

The Wine Country Brunch is hosted at WBG on Saturdays & Sundays from 10:30AM – 2:00PM. And we couldn’t imagine a more idyllic setting for brunch. WBG has plenty of seating options with two floors of indoor tables, lots of bar seating, and outdoor patio spaces.

First Upstairs room

The vibe inside the restaurant is chic and modern with touches of industrial piping and farmhouse charm. It really nailed that cozy yet modern vibe and all of the exposed wood is reminiscent of the wine country in Napa Valley.

Inside WBG

Sitting down, you feel immediately transported into a classy wine bar, without any of the intimidating stuffiness.

There are still some health and safety measures in place, including QR codes on the table to review the menu.

There is also some outdoor seating for those desiring a bit more air circulation.

These tables have a killer view. I mean just LOOK how pretty at night:

::chef’s kiss::

We have our table, we have our menu — now, it is time to decide on what to order! If after scanning the QR code menu you’re still lost on what to get, fear not! The staff is extremely knowledgeable about the wine options and pairing; they’re also very nice and helpful, the service is always great! Even if you’re a total wine noob, they will happily explain anything to you.

Eats

One of the major differences between the lunch and the brunch offerings is the different selection of entrees (breakfast items like the French Toast, Eggs Benedict, and Sausage Gravy and Biscuits are exclusive to the Wine Country Brunch). Brunch is only offered on the weekends and it features delicious appetizers and boards…

Before having anything to eat, we tried some drinks! The first drink we tried was The Hoot, a cocktail made with 12 year aged Hooten Young American Whiskey, Créme de Cassis, and Ginger Beer. It might seem odd to get a cocktail at a wine bar, but George Milotes himself created this drink!

The Hoot!

The ginger flavor was front and center with the whiskey and blackberry flavors following right behind it. The drink is fresh and very gingery, perfect for anyone who likes a little spice to their cocktails. You can get this drink for $15.

Gingery and delicious!

Next up is a must-do for bourbon lovers: the Bacon Old Fashioned. The drink features Bacon-Washed Buffalo Trace and Walnut Bitters with some aromatic bitters as well.

Bacon Old Fashioned

The strong bourbon flavor and walnut bitters were complimented perfectly by that smokey bacon flavor. The drink wasn’t very sweet, so make sure you really want that smokey bourbon flavor before ordering this one! You can get this drink for $15.

Very smokey!

Can we really call it brunch if we don’t have a mimosa? And can it really be a brunch at Disney if we didn’t get the Dole Whip Mimosa? We ordered the Frozcato Mimosa, which features Dole Whip Pineapple, Moscato, and Prosecco.

The Frozcato

The drink is basically a bubbly Dole Whip (we’re not complaining, we love a good Dole Whip!). If you’re a big fan of pineapple and aren’t looking for a strong booze flavor in your cocktails, this one is for you! Keep in mind that — like a Dole Whip — this is SWEET. If you’re looking for a drier tasting way to sip your bubbly, they have traditional mimosas as well. 🙂 You can get this drink for $15.

Just like a Dole Whip!

Now it’s time for some food! First, we got the Charcuterie Board with prosciutto, pork pâté, calabrese, and mortadella. We loved this board! Though we usually prefer a combination of meats and cheese, this Charcuterie Board is an exception to that rule. The prosciutto was thickly sliced (yum) and the pâté was smooth and smokey. You obviously gotta be into the texture and taste of pâté to enjoy that though!

The Charcuterie Board

The pickles, sweet bacon relish, and mustard went really well with the meat selection, complimenting all the flavors of the meat selection. If you’re looking for cheese on your board, we recommend getting the Artisanal Cheese Board for $28 or The Big Board for $59, both of which feature plenty of cheese! Otherwise, the Charcuterie Board is perfect for meat lovers and anyone who isn’t big on cheese but loves charcuterie. You can get this dish for $26.

It comes with bread and crackers on the side!

After that, we got the Burrata, which features burrata cheese with candied bacon and avocado on top of char-grilled ciabatta bread. Some fresh tomato slices with basil chiffonade are on the plate as well. We love love LOVE this dish! If you’ve never had burrata, it’s kind of the more delicate, creamy, fancy relative of mozzarella. It’s almost like a water balloon made of cheese filled with more creamy stringy cheese that spills out when the cheese balloon is popped (sounds weird but burrata is basically cheese heaven on a plate). The cheese and avocado were super fresh and creamy which went perfectly with the sweet and smokey bacon.

The Burrata

The charred bread added a nice crunch to the dish, tying everything together in each bite. This is seriously addictive — we could eat it every day! It is a perfect choice for a filling meal that doesn’t weigh you down. We’d definitely recommend this to fans of avocado toast and fresh ingredients! You can basically make a next-level plate of avocado toast here if you get creative with your fork. You can get this dish for $22.

So much going on with this one!

This next one is a little messy but super delicious: the Fried Chicken Biscuit with pimento cheese, bacon relish, and sunny side egg. One word to describe this one: YUM. Crispy, juicy chicken with plenty of dark and light meat, spicy pimento cheese, a nice hearty biscuit, and the gooey egg made this one delicious to eat!

The Fried Chicken Biscuit

The only thing we’ll warn you about is that it’s kinda messy if you decide to tackle it as a biscuit sandwich! We wouldn’t recommend picking this up to take a bite out of it! It’s more of a fork-and-knife situation unless you don’t mind a mess. This is a stick-to-your-ribs, fill-your-belly, groan-at-how-stuffed-you-are-without-any-regrets kinda meal. Overall, we’d recommend this to anyone who’s a fried chicken fan! You can get this dish for $19.

Definitely Instagram-worthy!

The last entree we got was the Wine Country Omelet with artichoke, asparagus, olive & tomato medley, and Havarti cheese. Even though there were some bold contributors to this dish, it was the least exciting of the three entrees we had. The dominating flavor of the omelet was the salty olives. Try as they might, the Havarti, asparagus, and artichoke simply played back-up singers to the olive’s diva performance.

The Wine Country Omelet

We love that this isn’t your standard, run of the mill omelet. It plays with some bold flavors and provides a distinctly Mediterranean splash into your weekend nosh. If you’re really craving an omelet and want to try something different, this is the one for you! Otherwise, we’d recommend trying out a different option. You can get this entree for $16.

Not your usual omelet!

Last, but certainly not least, we had the Key Lime Pie for dessert. We know, Key Lime Pie seems boring, right? SO many restaurants offer a take on this classic Floridian dish. Here’s the thing though guys: this pie is DELICIOUS! We don’t always swoon over key lime pie, but we couldn’t stop eating this one!

The Key Lime Pie

The raspberry sauce and lime zest help give the pie a nice tangy and light flavor. For the price, the serving was a bit small, but after a big brunch, it was the perfect little end bite. It was refreshing, sweet, and a nice little palate cleanser to end the meal.

What a great way to end this meal!

If you’re a key lime pie fan, you should consider giving this little nugget a try. If you’re not a key lime fan or want something a bit more rich, check out some other dessert options in Disney Springs (there are PLENTY)! You can get this treat for $7.

Nosh or Not

Check out Wine Bar George if…

  • You’re seeking the atmosphere for a great date! This spot makes for a nice brunch date with plenty of wonderful wines, delicious food, and a cozy environment.
  • You’re a foodie or a wine fan! The food here is top-notch and the wine selection is curated by Master Sommelier George Miliotes himself. This is truly where WBG separates itself from other Disney Springs brunch spots, the wine selection is crazy good and the pairings and wine knowledge from the waiters are excellent.
  • You’re looking for a nice relaxing meal! This is the spot for a leisure-paced meal to cool down during your day at Disney Springs. The staff is informative and attentive, but won’t rush you so you can enjoy your meal and conversation.

Try somewhere else if…

  • You have little kids! This might not be the best spot for young kids, especially with so many kid-friendly options available at other spots in Disney Springs. That said, we see many kids here enjoying themselves.
  • You want a quick meal! WBG is a bit more leisurely than many of the other dining options at Disney Springs, so if you’re trying to get in and out of a restaurant quickly, this might not be the one for you.
  • You want to have brunch on a weekday. WBG only offers its brunch on the weekend.

Overall

Wine Bar George is — shocker, we know — still really REALLY good. You can’t go wrong with the brunch menu; there are plenty of delicious options and something for everyone to love. The service and atmosphere were amazing as always — we’re seriously constantly impressed by how great this place is!!! There are plenty of great brunch spots in Disney Springs (wee see you, Homecomin‘!), but this one is truly unique because it has a huge selection of wine and the service is just a cut above the rest.

There’s a wealth of knowledge about drink pairings here and, although there are plenty of spots at Disney to snag a tasty cocktail, this spot still rises to the top with some great options. Think about that — the wine is killer here but the mixed drinks are so good, we happily order those at a place with “wine bar” in the name! This brunch is one of the better ones in Disney Springs and we’ll definitely be coming back for more. You’re almost guaranteed to get something delicious to eat and fun to drink every time you visit WBG!

We feel like we’re starting to sound like a broken record in a really good way: Wine Bar George is fantastic. Try it and you likely won’t regret it. 🙂
