It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Yes, the 2021 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival is upon us! I am a huge foodie and I love getting to try the wide assortment of food available at this festival! While one bummer of the festival this year is that some of my favorite booths won’t open until October 1st (Italy, the Alps, Brazil, and the mac and cheese booth), I was excited to spend 3 days eating around the world on opening weekend!

Hops and Barley booth- Lobster Roll $8.50

4 out of 5 stars

This is always one of my favorite foods from the festival. I love lobster rolls and I found this one very tasty. The bread was perfectly toasted and buttery, there was a decent amount of lobster, and they give you some warm butter to pour on your lobster roll if you choose.

Italy booth- Mezzelune Croccanti $12

2 out of 5 stars

This dish is a fried ravioli filled with mozzarella cheese and served on top of pomodoro sauce. The cheese didn’t have much flavor and there wasn’t enough of it. There was too much breading and it overpowered the dish. While I enjoyed it, for $12, I didn’t like it enough to get it again.

Brew-Wing at the Epcot Experience- Teriyaki-Sesame Wings with Celery and Ranch $7.50

4 out of 5 stars

I had pretty low expectations for these wings. Generally speaking, chicken dishes at Disney are never that great and are frequently overcooked. My husband and I ordered these near park closing and they didn’t have any ready. We ended up getting a fresh batch after waiting a few minutes. The wait was well worth it. These were so good! They were incredibly hot, had a good amount of meat, and the teriyaki-sesame glaze was very tasty. I look forward to trying other flavors. My one complaint was the lack of ranch. According to the menu, the wings are supposed to come with celery and ranch. We got the celery, but no ranch.

France booth- Beignet aux Trois Fromages – $5.75

1 out of 5 stars

Picture this, a jelly filled donut, but replace the jelly with melty cheese and add melted cheese to the top of the donut. Sounds terribly wrong doesn’t it? This thing was just strange. The cheese inside was warm, melty, and delicious, but it absolutely did not work with the sweetness of the beignet. It wasn’t so awful that I couldn’t eat it, but I would never get this again.

Refreshment Port- Maple Boursin Cheesecake with Whipped Boursin Maple Bourbon Cheese and Candied Pecans- $4.50

3 out of 5 stars

I have had this cheesecake in previous years and really enjoyed it. This year, it just didn’t taste as good. I’m not sure what the difference between this year and previous years was, but it was just ok for me. I think I would have preferred it to be more chilled, especially on a hot July day.

Italy booth- Ravioli- $13

4 out of 5 stars

While $13 is very pricey for food at the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival, I really enjoyed this dish. It was chicken-filled ravioli with Alfredo sauce. We got 5 raviolis total. The flavors of the Alfredo sauce and the raviolis worked very well together. I will be trying this one again on my next trip to the festival.

Flavors from Fire- The S’mores Whoopie Pie-lon- $4.00

3 out of 5 stars

This S’mores
Whoopie pie had 2 pieces of chocolate cake with a graham cracker and marshmallow
in the middle. The part I disliked with this particular whoopie pie was the
candied bacon that was baked into the top layer of chocolate cake. It gave the
whoopie pie a chewy consistency that didn’t need to be there and detracted from
the rest of the flavors.

Have you had
the chance to visit the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival yet? What
are you most looking forward to trying?
