It’s time to check in on all of the latest construction progress in Disney World!

Whether you’re headed into the parks or visiting a Disney World Resort hotel, you’re bound to stumble upon at least a few projects taking place in advance of the 50th Anniversary celebrations. But, as we get closer, we’re starting to see some of the bigger projects wrap up (or at least get close to it)! So, today we’re taking you along with us to get an update on everything that’s changed this week — let’s get to it!

Magic Kingdom

“it’s a small world”

At the end of July, “it’s a small world” debuted a brand new colorful paint job after closing for just a few short days. We thought that a pink, blue, and green clock tower was all that we would be getting — but it turns out that Disney’s not done yet! This week, we noticed that more of the queue’s iconic display was painted in shades of pink, yellow, and teal.

There is still some of the original paint on the display, so we’ll keep an eye out for more repainting in the coming weeks!

Jungle Cruise

Over at Jungle Cruise, there’s almost always something new to see as Disney continues integrating an updated storyline and new scenes. And, just when we thought that the entrance sign was complete, Disney surprised us all and changed it AGAIN! Here’s what it looked like at the end of July…

…and here’s what it looks like now! So, instead of a green background with red and white details (that really reminded us of Christmas), the sign is red and tan.

Let this be a lesson to us all that if you don’t like the paint job at first, just do it again!

Main Street Train Station

From the outside looking in, it seems that the construction at the Main Street Train Station is almost completely done! We’ve been watching as scrim has been removed piece by piece and now the front is back to its scrim-less glory.

The bushes blocking our view from the actual station still remain and on the other side, some tarp does still remain.

So, could this mean that the Walt Disney World Railroad could start running again soon? Well, probably not — Disney originally closed the attraction because part of the tracks is blocked by the construction over at TRON: Lightcycle Run, and work is still continuing over there.

Peco’s Bill Tall Tale Inn & Cafe

Parts of Frontierland have also been getting a bit of a touch-up leading up to the Disney World 50th Anniversary and though, while a lot of the construction walls have been removed, there is still some light construction going on at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn & Cafe.

The Quick Service restaurant is still open, but you’ll have to take a detour to get to the entrance.

Pete’s Silly Sideshow

Back in Storybook Circus, the minor repainting happening at Big Top Souvenirs wrapped up (and Big Top Treats even reopened!), but now it’s time for Pete’s Silly Sideshow to get spruced up! We noticed that shrubs were blocking the former character meet-and-greet location and some construction machinery was stationed around the exterior.

We’ll be checking back to see what updates are made, so stay tuned!

EPCOT

Creations Shop

At EPCOT, we got to check in on the latest progress at the new Creations Shop coming to Future World. Though we can’t see inside just yet, we were able to see that more of the exterior has been painted and there is only a little more to go.

The brand new shop is set to replace Mouse Gear later this summer, so definitely we’re nearing the completion!

Disney Resorts

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort has undergone some extensive renovations this year along with a re-theming of their guest rooms inspired by Moana, and though the Monorail station has yet to reopen, we took a look at it as we passed by on the highway in the sky!

Previously, the station’s construction was covered by tarps as the monorail rode through, but this week the tarps were removed and we were able to get a quick glance at the progress.

So, there are still quite a few construction materials sprawled out and it’s not fully ready just yet, but, hey, it’s a step in the right direction!
