Right now, Disney World’s most popular ride is Rise of the Resistance!
It’s a big hit at Disney World and Disneyland!
The newer Star Wars attraction is located in Galaxy’s Edge and is so popular that Disney uses a boarding group system to load guests. It can be pretty difficult to snag a boarding group when the parks are busy, and now the process has changed again!
Previously, guests attempting to secure a boarding group through the My Disney Experience app were met with a “Create Your Party” screen after trying to join a group. Here, you would choose who you wanted to get a boarding group for and who you didn’t. We often encouraged our readers to just move right through this screen and not double-check it so that they didn’t waste time. (Seriously, boarding groups can be gone in SECONDS.)

But now, there has been a small change. Guests will click “Join Virtual Queue” as normal…

…but then they’ll be met with a new “Review Details” screen! Disney will auto-select your party for you, and you’ll have the option to change it if you need to. To do that, make sure to click on the “Change Party” button next to the list of current party members. You may not want to do this at that time because it could slow you down.

Once your group is secured, you can double-check your party to make sure everything is in order. If you have too many people in your party, should be able to remove them. And if you encounter any problems, try checking with Guest Relations and they may be able to help. We’ll test this out soon and let you know how it goes!
