EPCOT is undergoing one of the largest transformations of its lifetime.

Spaceship Earth recently got a glow-up, the front entrance has a gorgeous new fountain, there’s a Moana-themed water feature on the way, a new space-themed restaurant will open soon, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure will open soon, and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is currently under construction. There’s even a new nighttime show, Harmonious, debuting this year!

Let’s just say that Disney Imagineers have been giving EPCOT a LOT of extra love these past few years! And they’re not done yet. In addition to everything else coming to EPCOT, a new store will also debut there soon, Creations Shop, which will be THE place to shop for Disney gear at EPCOT! This will be the shop to replace Mouse Gear.

And now we’ve got even MORE details about the shop, thanks to Imagineer Zach Riddley. Creations Shop will also feature some original artwork, including a massive mural dedicated to Mickey Mouse! The art, called Mouse in Motion, spans over 35 feet!

Riddley wrote, “The composition features Mickey Mouse in dynamic poses through a prism of colors. From left to right, Mickey is in a moment of movement and energy, recalling graphic inspiration drawn from print, media, and even street art.”

He continued, “We were inspired by our legacy – leveraging hand-drawn linework and the look of Mickey Mouse from the time when Walt Disney World and EPCOT were first being dreamed up by Walt Disney and his early Imagineers.”

Riddley stated, “In the left portion of the composition, Mickey is proudly carrying a pennant emblazed with the EPCOT logo, one of many nods to our past captured through our design.”

The large hand-painted mural will be located on the south side of the shop where guests can see it from nearly everywhere within the shop. Disney hasn’t revealed an opening date for Creations Shop yet, but when they do, we’ll be the first to let you know, so stay tuned!
