We keep track of the new updates in the Disney World parks, but sometimes there’s big news at the hotels around them as well!
Today, we’re going to look at a couple of Disney World hotels that have gotten some updates since we last visited.
We found most of our updates at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Food Update
Inside, there was a new dome cake themed after Lilo’s doll Scrump from Lilo and Stitch.
If you don’t know the movie very well, you might just think it’s a terrifying cake…and we don’t blame you. But it certainly didn’t taste scary, just very sweet!
The treat had a cotton candy flavor inside the vanilla cake, and it was surrounded by vanilla icing and chocolate decorations. We got it for $5.49 at Kona Island, but it’s also available at Capt. Cook’s.

And speaking of Halloween treats at the Polynesian Resort, we also spotted this new Mickey BOO Bash Push Pop at Capt. Cook’s!
Yes, the push pop does have eyes…and LOTS of frosting! The cake-to-frosting ratio was a bit unbalanced with tons of sweet buttercream, but we thought it was a cute treat, and kids would love all the sugary-ness and fun Halloween colors. You can get one at Capt. Cook’s for $5.99.

Disney’s Polynesian Village Construction Update
This hotel has seen a lot of construction recently, with new Moana themes coming to guest rooms and refurbishments on the Monorail Station and exterior of the buildings.
This week, the Monorail Station finally reopened, so guests can once again use it to get to and from Disney’s Magic Kingdom.
In addition, the front entrance is open now as well! When the Polynesian reopened in July, guests used a side entrance to get to the lobby because of continuous updates to the front.
Now, you can walk in via the front entrance again — but not before stopping to appreciate all the gorgeous greenery of course!
There’s still some construction going on around the resort, but for the most part, the Polynesian’s updates are looking beautiful. Once we admired the waterfalls and pretty new rock paths…
…we headed in to find some new Halloween treats!
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Merchandise Update
At Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, we noticed that the Zawadi Marketplace was open again!
This merchandise spot has Disney souvenirs, clothes, snacks, African-inspired art, and more. We didn’t see any new items inside, but we’ll be keeping an eye out.
That’s all for our Disney hotel updates! Keep following DFB for more news about what’s happening in Disney World.
