It’s that time! Disney World’s 50th Anniversary is TODAY!!!

Disney World has TONS of stuff planned for today (and we mean TONS), so we’ll be in the theme parks and hotels showing you EVERYTHING! From new restaurants, rides, food, experiences, and more, come to Disney World with us LIVE for one of the biggest Disney events in history!

All four parks are celebrating the 50th today so there is a LOT to see. Follow along ALL day as we will be updating this post with every detail from the day.

Magic Kingdom

Entering the Park

There was a lot of activity around Magic Kingdom VERY early this morning as we headed to Disney World’s flagship park.

The parking lots seemed pretty quiet, but we could tell that wouldn’t be the case for long.

Once we were parked, we hopped on the 50th Anniversary monorail, ready to celebrate!

We arrived at Magic Kingdom before the sun was up this morning and snagged the classiest guide map of all time. Yep, there’s a new map for the special occasion!

Crowds

And we were NOT the only ones ready for a big 50th day. Around 7AM, Main Street, U.S.A. was already buzzing with crowds.

There’s nothing quite like watching the sunrise over a crowded Magic Kingdom!

Merchandise

As of 7:25AM the Virtual Queue for the Anniversary Collection event at Big Top Souvenirs in Magic Kingdom was already FULL. Whew!

Disney World Resorts

At our hotels this morning, we noticed that the Disney World Resort TV had an all-new section about the 50th.

The resorts are also home to the Disney World 50th Refillable Mug. This handy souvenir has an adorable Disney print.

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort

Gasparilla Island Grill at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort was the home of our very first treat of the day! We started the morning with the breakfast of champions — the EARidescent Cupcake.

Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Steakhouse 71, the brand new retro restaurant at Disney’s Contemporary Resort had a ribbon-cutting this morning. It’s officially open!
