What’s New in Disney’s Animal Kingdom: Ride Deconstruction and Disney-Themed Flannels

We try to keep you updated with all the new things in the Disney World parks.

Tree of Life

Today we’re visiting Disney World’s wildest park to look for any updates since we’ve last been. Let’s head into Disney’s Animal Kingdom to find out what’s new with the merchandise and construction there!

There were a LOT of new souvenirs in the Animal Kingdom when we stopped by.

Animal Kingdom Merchandise Update

We found all the new items at Discovery Trading, a gift shop in the Discovery Island area. First up, there were new items to get you ready for fall, with plaid long-sleeve shirts featuring Remy from Ratatouille

…and Stitch!

Both shirts had small decals on the front and larger decorations on the back. The shirts were $59.99 each.

Back of the shirts

There were also some plaid zip-up jackets, which you could get for $64.99 each. One of them had designs featuring Forky from Toy Story 4

…and the other showed the Three Caballeros.

Like the shirts, the biggest designs were on the back of these jackets.

They’ve also got hoods, so you can (try to) stay dry during those inevitable rainy Disney days.

We’re hoping that cooler weather is coming, so we loved the new Mickey Mouse sweatshirt with a tie-dye design.

This sweatshirt was $52.99.

We <3 tie-dye

And speaking of perfect fall outfits, we found a zip-up Disney World sweater for $124.99.

It had cozy designs all the way around and the Disney World logo across the back.

For the little ones, we spotted new long-sleeve t-shirts featuring Hei Hei…

…Animal from the Muppets…

…and a classic Disney World logo.

Each t-shirt was $39.99.

We checked out the pin display as well to see if anything was new there, and we hit the jackpot! There were several new pins themed after the upcoming Marvel movie Eternals. One showed the Eternals’ symbol…

…and another was a full set that featured several of the characters.

Eternals pins

The set came in a really cool triangle-shaped box. The individual Eternals pin was $15.99, and the set was $59.99.

You can also get a mystery Eternals pin set for $19.99.

And if that’s not enough new Marvel merchandise, we also found an Eternals MagicBand with characters from the movie all along the band.

All the new merchandise got us very excited for the new movie, which comes out on November 5th, 2021.

Here’s the other side

Just in time for Halloween, we found a set of villainous pins. There are five tombstone pins, each dedicated to a Disney villain.

Villain Pins

The epitaphs are the Disney Villain x Haunted Mansion crossovers that we never knew we needed…and we’re loving them all. You can get the set of five for $129.99…which is a little more than we usually like to spend on pins. But we’re still very tempted.

If you’re looking for 50th Anniversary merchandise, there was some of that here as well! We found a 50th Anniversary necklace and earrings set.

The delicate crystals in the Cinderella Castle remind us of the gorgeous EARidescent colors on the actual Castle! This set is $34.99.

They come in a pretty box too!

For more 50th Anniversary things, you can head over to Island Mercantile, where we found big displays of the 50th things and lots more merchandise (but nothing new from the last time we visited!).

Phew! That’s a lot of new merchandise! Let’s take a look at some construction updates around the park now.

Animal Kingdom Construction Update

One BIG change that we saw was that the theatre that used to have signs for the Up! A Great Bird Adventure Show” has now changed to advertise “Feathered Friends in Flight.”

Feathered Friends in Flight

This is the same show that’s been at this theatre for a while now; it just got some new signs!

Over in DinoLand U.S.A., there was some major construction happening at the now-extinct Primeval Whirl attraction.

We haven’t heard yet what might be replacing this attraction, but we’ll let you know as soon as we hear anything.

Lots of construction here

And we’re going to end our update with some beautiful pictures of the Pandora land in Animal Kingdom.

It’s gorgeous!

Pandora Waterfalls

We never get tired of walking through this area.
