Would You Pay $34 to Whack Your Dessert With a Spoon in Disney World?

We’ve tried some pretty wild and over-the-top treats in Disney World the past few days!

Dumbo Churros…encrusted with peanuts!

We’ve had sundaes piled high with every Disney snack known to man, hot dogs topped with funnel cake pieces, and more blue cupcakes than we’ll ever be able to count. But the party doesn’t stop there! Today, we headed to EPCOT to try a rather pricey treat that you can only find in one very special location.

Today, we stopped by San Angel Inn to check out the 50th Anniversary Celebration Fiesta Pyramid! Seriously, this thing just LOOKS like a party.

This thing is LARGE.

It’s made of a hard chocolate shell that’s decorated with an EARidescent shimmer. Inside, you’ll find a mix of Mexican mousse and toffee.

If that description doesn’t make your mouth water, you may want to see a doctor.

And if somehow that’s not enough, then you should know that it’s served atop a traditional tres leches cake and accompanied by scoops of ice cream! (Are you satisfied NOW?!) Looking at this thing, all we can say is…wow.

Cake AND ice cream?!

But, is it worth the $34 (yikes!) price tag? Well, we thought that it was super fun to crack open the outer shell, and the chocolate itself was somewhere between milk chocolate and dark chocolate in richness and intensity — to us, it was a perfect balance. The cake wasn’t our favorite part of the entire equation, but it was still moist and delicious. And the ice cream? Well, you can’t go wrong with vanilla topped with caramel sauce!

However, the REAL star of this treat was the mousse inside! To us, it tasted like chocolate pudding mix…and we mean that in the best way possible. It was light and sweet and balanced really well.

How delicious!

All in all, we thought it was a unique and yummy dessert to try out, and it might be fun to split with a group of friends. However, it probably won’t be our first choice when we’re on the lookout for a dessert in World Showcase, simply because there are SO many delicious treats in the various countries that don’t cost $34 each!

Well, that was fun!
