A Popular Magic Kingdom Attraction is CLOSING for a MONTH Next Week

A lot of construction projects ended recently, as Disney World opened a new restaurant, welcomed a brand-new attraction, and unveiled updated rooms at a popular hotel.

But right now we’re looking at what’s NOT going to be open in Disney World next week, so that you’re prepared before you head out on your upcoming trip. What’s closing temporarily (or already closed) that won’t be available in the parks? Let’s find out.

The biggest news for this update is what’s going on in the Magic Kingdom.

Magic Kingdom Refurbishments

Starting next Monday, October 11th, Mickey’s PhilharMagic will be closing for a month-long refurbishment.

During this time, Imagineers are adding a new scene to the show! The scene is from Disney Pixar’s Coco, and will feature the song “Un Poco Loco.”

The updated show has already debuted in Disneyland in California, but we can’t wait to see it arrive in Disney World!

The attraction will be open again (with the new scene) starting November 12th, 2021.

The Walt Disney World Railroad is also going to be closed next week, but this attraction has been down for a while now.

Fantasyland Train Station

Construction on the TRON roller coaster over in Tomorrowland interrupted the train tracks, so the trains can’t run right now.

TRON Lightcycle Run

We’re not sure when TRON will be finished, and until then we don’t expect to see the Railroad back either.

EPCOT Refurbishments

Over in EPCOT, the Souk-al-Magreb gift shop in the Morocco Pavilion is already closed for refurbishments.

This shop is scheduled to reopen on November 6th, 2021.

Disney World Hotel Refurbishments

There’s some BIG news with the Disney World hotels as well — Disney’s Port Orleans – Riverside Resort is going to reopen on Thursday, October 14th.

Riverside’s sister hotel, Disney’s Port Orleans – French Quarter, will reopen on October 28th.

Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort was supposed to reopen on December 9th, but its reopening was delayed.

The delay was due to more refurbishments inside the hotel, and Disney hasn’t announced yet when it will be open again.

All-Star Sports

Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort and Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort both have updates coming to their lobby areas. At All-Star Movies, guests can still check-in like normal, since the refurbishments are only affecting a few of the front desks.

At Saratoga Springs, Cast Members and signs will direct guests to temporary check-in areas. Or you can use your smartphone to check in on the My Disney Experience app and then head straight to your room!

And those are all the updates for what’s scheduled to be closed in Disney World next week! Remember that things can always close unexpectedly due to weather or technical difficulties, so keep an eye on the DFB blog and social media, because we’ll let you know ASAP when we find out that a ride or attraction is down.
