No matter how much you plan, sometimes there can be hiccups during your Disney World trip.
You could get an unexpected storm roll through while you’re trying to enjoy the parks, your favorite ride could be down, or that piece of merchandise you really wanted could be sold out. Transportation can be another major issue, which is exactly what’s happening right now in Disney World!
The Express Monorail to Magic Kingdom and the Resort Monorail lines are currently down in Disney World.
The Express Monorail runs between Magic Kingdom and the Transportation and Ticket Center, while the Resort Monorail runs between Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, and Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
Cast Members could not give us any information on the situation, other than that both lines were closed and people were being told to use the ferry boat to go to and from the TTC and Magic Kingdom.
We didn’t personally see any monorails stuck on the line, they were just sitting in the stations. But, the EPCOT Monorail line is up and running fine!
If you need to get to or from one of the 3 nearby resorts and Magic Kingdom, you can use the Grand Floridian walkway or the Contemporary walkway.
We’ll update you as soon as either Monorail lines reopens, so stay tuned to DFB for news.
