50TH ANNIVERSARY FOOD AT HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS

50TH ANNIVERSARY FOOD AT HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS

Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary celebration has brought a myriad of new offerings to the parks, including entertainment, commemorative merchandise, and – our favorite – specialty bites and beverages! While each park has its own unique treats available, we decided to swing by Disney’s Hollywood Studios last week to try a few dishes that we’ve been really looking forward to. Follow along as we go on a tasty adventure around the park!

THE HOLLYWOOD BROWN DERBY LOUNGE

This fan-favorite restaurant was our first stop, and it was home to one of the meals we were most excited about – the Filet Mignon with Walt Disney’s Roast Beef Hash. This plate comes with haricots verts and red wine sauce, served “Walt’s way” with a fried egg. The steak came out looking amazing and flawlessly put together. We found it to be just as mouthwatering as it looked! Each bite was tender and buttery, with the presence of a roast beef flavor, and seared to perfection. The hash itself was nothing out of the ordinary, but complimented the rest of the dish. We liked that the meat was grilled authentically over an open flame, which really brought out the flavor. This may be our number one Disney park steak of all time!

ABC COMMISSARY

Upon arriving at ABC Commissary, we realized that there are actually two anniversary desserts available here; the Caramel Apple Tart and the Chocolate Mousse. We decided to go with the Chocolate Mousse, which includes raspberry and dark chocolate, chocolate-almond cake, a layer of hazelnut crunch, and whipped chocolate-hazelnut cheesecake. This treat has a gorgeous presentation, with a shiny dark chocolate shell and golden flakes sprinkled atop. The contrasting flavors of chocolate and raspberry were delicious! However, we enjoyed the chewy brownie bottom the most. This is a dessert that we highly recommend!

ROSIE’S ALL-AMERICAN CAFE

This venue wasn’t originally in our snacking plans, but when we saw the treat it had to offer, we couldn’t resist. Here, we found the Disney’s Hollywood Studios 50th Celebration Sandwich cookie, which is a pretzel shortbread cookie sandwiched with strawberry jam and peanut butter-chocolate fudge. The fudge on top is deigned with various Hollywood Studios’s symbols, making for a photogenic treat. While the strawberry jam was yummy and flavorful, the shortbread is what made each bite so great.

BACKLOT EXPRESS

For our final stop of the day, we treated our taste buds to a Glimmer and Shimmer Blondie, which is composed of a gooey toffee and toasted coconut blondie with caramel buttercream and festive gold nuggets. This is yet another aesthetically pleasing treat with a gleaming 50th anniversary medallion. We were impressed first by the large size of this item, and then by the flavor! It was like biting into a dense coconut cake with a hint of marshmallow. Absolutely delicious and super sweet. You won’t want to miss out on this celebratory treat, or any of the other ones we tried, on your next visit to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Cheers to 50 years!
