Step-By-Step Guide: How to Book and BUY Pay-Per-Ride Attractions in Disney World

The time has come: Disney’s new paid Fastpass replacement, Disney Genie+, is here. If you miss skipping the lines at all your favorite attractions, you can now do so with the help of Disney Genie+. But wait, there’s more! While guests will be able to purchase Genie+ and ride most rides with a shorter line, not all attractions are available through Genie+. That’s where the new Individual Attraction Selection (IAS) system comes into play.

The Individual Attraction Selection system uses surge pricing and allows guests to pay-per-ride. Keep in mind that you don’t have to pay to ride the IAS attractions; there will still be a virtual or standby queue. Now that you’ve got the idea, you might be wondering how to purchase an Individual Attraction Selection. Let’s break it down. 🕺

What Is An Individual Attraction Selection?

With the new Genie+ feature, guests can make reservations to skip the lines at more than 40 rides throughout Disney World. This costs $15 per ticket, per day. But each Disney World park has two rides (the most popular ones) that don’t qualify for Genie+.

You can “skip the lines” at these rides by purchasing an Individual Attraction Selection (or Pay-Per-Ride) reservation. You do not have to have Genie+ to buy these reservations, and if you have Genie+,  you will still have to pay the extra fee. Guests can buy up to two of these reservations per day. The prices for each attraction (we like to call them the Fancy Rides) currently range from $7 to $15.
