We write a lot about Disney World, but there are other Disney Parks located all around the world!
Each Disney Park has a unique look, with many of the parks reflecting local cultural influences through the attractions, lands, architecture, and more. Fantasyland looks a little different in Disneyland Paris, and today we have a video with a behind-the-scenes tour!
Disney recently dropped a private video tour of Fantasyland in Disneyland Paris, along with a deep dive into the inspiration behind the design of the land. Located behind Le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant (the Disneyland Paris castle) is Fantasyland, which is made up of several “districts” with a European medieval kingdom theme.
Within Fantasyland are European countries that were the originating sites of many fairytales that later inspired Walt Disney. Many of the fairytales we know and love today were born in Europe! You can find France, Germany, Great Britain, and Italy in Fantasyland, as well as a glimpse of the Netherlands.
Stories by the Brothers Grimm, Carlo Collodi, Charles Perrault, and Lewis Carroll served as inspiration for these Fantasyland districts, like the gothic-style buildings inspired by the Brothers Grimm.
Below is a video that will take you on a private tour through Fantasyland in Disneyland Paris, and you can watch how the Imagineers used the inspirations of these European fairytale birthplaces in the architecture, history, and more.
