We’ve been keeping an eye out for any news and updates about the train that is set to bring guests from Orlando International Airport to Disney Springs.

So far, we’ve gotten updates on its route and potential delays, news about when construction of the line to Disney World could begin, and more. Now, we’ve got an update about just how many train stations in Florida may be in the works.

According to the Orlando Business Journal, Brightline has indicated that it could have up to 12 stations in its path planned between Miami, Orlando, and Tampa, once the entire route is complete.

This possibility was addressed during a recent presentation given by Brightline to the Florida Development Finance Corp. at Orlando International Airport. Brightline is seeking a $1 billion bond from the Florida Development Finance Corp. for current and future construction.

So what stations are currently in development for Brightline? Well, Brightline has existing stations in MiamiCentral, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach. Other stations are already in the works in Boca Raton and Aventura, which are set to be completed in the fall of 2022.

There is another proposed station at PortMiami in planning, and a proposed station at Disney Springs in Disney World, as well as Tampa.

That’s a look at the ones we’ve already heard about. So, what other stations might take shape in Florida? According to the Orlando Business Journal, a Brightline spokesman has indicated that other potential station locations include “the Treasure Coast, Space Coast and Lakeland.” Those potential stations, however, would be “in the company’s longterm outlook.”

Brightline has been in discussions with some officials about potential future stations. For example, some officials have discussed a potential station in Brevard County, while others “have called for a station in the International Drive corridor.”

At the moment, Brightline is about 65% complete on its Orlando-to-West Palm Beach expansion. That construction is set to be done by late 2022, with service starting in 2023. According to a schedule previously proposed by Brightline, construction of the “initial phase” of the line from the Orlando airport to Disney Springs would start by the first quarter of 2024. The route to Tampa may then start to be constructed as early as the second quarter of 2025.
