4 Unexpected Things That Happened in Disney World This Week

Hi there, DFB friends! This has been a weird week in Disney World.

Magic Kingdom

We’re here to go over all the unexpected news from Disney World this week, and from missing noodles to chipmunk headed Mickey ears (yes you read that right), we have a lot to talk about.

Noodle Shortage

Noooo, not noodles! But, unfortunately yes, Disney World is experiencing a noodle shortage right now, and our favorite ‘Ohana noodles are missing from Tambu Lounge at the Polynesian Village Resort hotel.

Until we meet again…

They ARE still serving these noodles at ‘Ohana, and a Cast Member was hopeful that they’ll return to Tambu Lounge soon.

Chip ’n Dale Ears

We still can’t decide whether these ears are cute or creepy, but they’re definitely unexpected. We’d love to listen in on the design team coming up with these unique ears, which feature the heads of plush Chip and Dale, along with a centerpiece of acorns and leaves.

You’d be NUTS not to love these ears

We found these at Meadow Trading Post at Fort Wilderness Resort, so you might have to take a trip over there to buy them! They’re made by Loungefly and cost $39.99.

Christmas Pineapples

Christmas decorations are going up in Disney World and we’re getting into the holiday spirit, but one unusual holiday decor item we noticed throughout Disney World was…pineapples? What’s the story here, Disney?

The holidays are here!

Fruit is commonly on Disney World holiday decorations so it’s not totally unusual, and pineapple can also be a symbol of Southern hospitality. Still, are we missing some kind of connection between pineapples and Disney World’s 50th anniversary?

New Annual Passholder Scan

Annual Passholders get a new perk when entering Disney Parks! Now when scanning their Annual Pass (or MagicBand), they’re treated to a new purple sequence and a magical new sound!

Normally, you see white and green when scanning into a Disney Park, so this is a fun new feature for Annual Passholders to experience next time they visit Disney World!
