REVIEW: We’re Torn — Is Disney World’s Newest Cocktail Really a Holiday Drink?

It’s the holiday season in Disney World, folks!

Holiday lights in Animal Kingdom!

Decorations are up around the parks and hotels, festive food is popping up in different places, and the first Very Merriest After Hours event is taking place in Magic Kingdom tonight. We, of course, are trying out all of the holiday eats and treats around Disney World, so come with us as we check out a returning item in Hollywood Studios!

Check out the Christmas on the Beach from Oasis Canteen! It has Parrot Bay Coconut Rum, Bols Blue Curaçao, cranberry juice, and pineapple juice served with a souvenir glow cube for $15.

Let’s see if it’s worth that $15 price tag

This is a returning holiday item that we tried last year when it was at BaseLine Tap House.

It’s VERY blue

Disney, we just don’t understand how you can consider this a Christmas drink! It’s almost all tropical flavors. Maybe it feels festive for people who spend their holidays in the Caribbean? But, we want traditional Christmas flavors!

This feels more like a summer drink

This drink is also SO SWEET. If you don’t like sweet alcoholic drinks, stay away from this — it is not for you! But, the cranberry did help cut the pineapple a little, which is at least something positive, especially because it’s the only actual Christmas flavor in the drink.

A splash of cranberry doesn’t make this Christmas-y

If you like sweet, tropical drinks, then you’ll probably love this! But, we can’t guarantee you’ll feel any holiday spirit from the drink. For that, you should check out something like the Frozen Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate over at ABC Commissary, Backlot Express, Rosie’s All-American Café, or PizzeRizzo.

Now that’s what we’re talking about!

If you do want something tropical and non-traditional for the holidays, you can get the Christmas on the Beach now through January 3rd, 2022 at Oasis Canteen, Animation Arch Bar, and Sunshine Day Bar in Hollywood Studios.

We’re simply not having a wonderful Christmastime with this drink

So, what do you think — would you consider this a Christmas drink? Let us know! And, stay tuned to DFB for more holiday food reviews around Disney World!
