Love It or List It: Disney World’s Massive Gingerbread House OPENS with a NEW Look

It’s the holiday season at Disney World, and we’ve been checking out ALL of the festivities!

SO PRETTY

We’ve seen decorations pop up in the parks and hotels, special food added to the menus around the resort, and even went to the first night of the Disney Very Merriest After Hours event. An iconic part of the holidays at Disney World are the gingerbread houses, and the most extravagant one is finally open for business!

The Grand Floridian’s famous life-size gingerbread house is finally complete and open!

Looking good!

Located in the hotel’s lobby, the house is made with real gingerbread and will sell a variety of holiday treats throughout the season.

Treats now available!

There’s actually a sign by the house that lists all of the ingredients it took to make the giant treat, which includes 1,050 pounds of honey, 700 pounds of chocolate, and 800 pounds of flour (plus some Disney Magic and Pixie Dust for good measure!).

That’s a LOT of ingredients

This year the gingerbread house has taken on a special look in honor of Disney World’s 50th anniversary. The EARidescent colors have made their way into the design, with blue and gold accents everywhere, including a lot of blue plants around the house.

A blue Christmas

We’re not sure how we feel about the look for the house this year. It’s very different from the houses we’ve seen in the past that have featured mainly red and green.

Why so blue, Santa?

It’s just…it’s a LOT of blue.

Kind of missing the red and green!

If you look closely, you can see Mickey shaped ornaments hanging from the house with the 50 on them.

And, you can actually buy these ornaments, too! Matching 50th gingerbread ornaments you can eat are being sold as one of the treats you can get from the house.

These look yummy!

There is a sign next to the house that lists all of the treats you can buy — here’s a look at everything you can get:

The treats were being displayed on a table when we went to check out the house this morning.

We’ll take one of everything, please!

Also, the register wasn’t set up at the house yet, so we had to check out at the Sandy Cove Gift and Sundries store.

The gingerbread house will open every day at 9:30AM and close at 9PM, so stop by to see the amazing artistry and get some festive sweets!

It’s certainly grand!
