REVIEW: Holiday Stuffing + Mac and Cheese = DELICIOUSNESS at Disneyland Resort

After a hiatus due to the COVID-19-related closures, Disney California Adventure Park’s Festival of Holidays is BACK!

It’s time!

The festival will be available from November 12th, 2021 through January 9th, 2022 (and it even opened a day early today). There are a number of food booths available throughout the festival, as well as entertainment and more. Recently, we made our way over to the festival to check out a returning booth — Favorite Things! Could the items here become some of your favorite things in the entire festival? There’s only one way to find out.

Favorite Things is a returning booth, which we’ve seen several times at Festival of Holidays, though the menu here has changed some over the past few years.

Favorite Things

Menu

This year, the menu features a DFB-favorite returning item as well as some other treats.

The Holiday Stuffing Mac & Cheese is a delicious returning item from 2019. And this year, you can also get the Chana Masala and Hibiscus Ginger Mezcal Mule.

You’ll also find a Festival Beer Flight on this menu for $17, along with a couple of limited-time Stout options. The Stone Brewing, 2014 Imperial Russian Stout is $14.25, and the Karl Strauss, Wreck Alley, Imperial Stout is $13.

Eats

We begin with the classic Holiday Stuffing Mac & Cheese! The dish is made with creamy mac & cheese, topped with that holiday stuffing you may know very well from your own holiday meals.

Holiday Stuffing Mac & Cheese

This has been one of our FAVORITE items in the past, so we were thrilled to see it was available this year and VERY excited to dig into it. This year’s version wasn’t super cheesy, but it was still one of our favorite snacks at the festival so far.

Mac ‘n’ Cheese

The holiday stuffing flavor just goes SO well with the mac and cheese, and the panko crumbs add some great texture to each bite.

Yep, we’re still big fans!

If you want to try this Holiday Stuffing Mac & Cheese, you can grab it for $7.75.

The Chana Masala with Grilled Garlic Naan is also available for $7.

We’ve seen this dish offered at other Festival of Holidays booths in the past, so we’re excited to see it return this year!

Drinks

But, it’s not just about the food at this booth. Favorite Things also serves up an assortment of pale ales and stouts, just as it has in the past. Specifically, you can grab a Stone Brewing, 2014 Imperial Russian Stout for $14.75. This is a drink we’ve seen available at this booth in the past. You can also try out the Festival Beer Flight for $17, which is another returning favorite!

Beer Flight 2019

If you’re looking for a more unique drink here, you can pick up the Hibiscus Ginger Mezcal Mule for $14. This drink is made of Mezcal, house-made hibiscus syrup, ginger, lime juice, and Topo Chico Mineral Water. We’ll be reviewing the Mezcal Mule soon, so stay tuned with DFB! If you want to try it, you can grab the Hibiscus Ginger Mezcal Mule for $14.

Overall

Overall, Favorite Things is a good booth to stop at if you’re looking for a homey mac & cheese with stuffing, or you can go for more adventurous flavors with the Chana Masala or Hibiscus Ginger Mezcal Mule. There are lots of drink options to choose from as well! Grab the Festival Beer Flight if you’re looking for a little taste of several different holiday beers, or check out the new Mule if you’re feeling a bit adventurous.

We’re making our way through the other booths at the Festival of Holidays, so stay tuned for more news, photos, and reviews!
