It’s an exciting day for Star Wars fans. First, it’s Life Day — which is a Wookiee celebration honoring family, happiness, and harmony, as well as Wookiee culture. And you can celebrate from home with new merchandise Disney just released online.

But we also got even MORE details about the Galactic Starcruiser, aka the Star Wars Hotel, including new information about how the lightsaber training experience will work.

Basically, all guests over the age of 7 will get a time scheduled to attend their lightsaber training during their time on the Galactic Starcruiser. With some very cool special effects and technology, guests will have the opportunity to use their lightsaber to attack laser targets and eventually get to the point where they can “use the Force” to anticipate where the next attack will come from.

But we did learn some new important details about the experience. First, guests will not be using the real-life lightsabers Disney previously showed off that have their blades come out of and retreat into the hilt — those will be used exclusively by performers. Instead, guests will have a lightweight replica lightsaber.

One important thing to note is that the replica lightsaber used for training will not be available for sale. Guests will only have access to these particular lightsabers during their training exercises. Also, guests will not be able to buy the fancier lightsabers that performers use either — those will also not be for sale. (source: IGN) 

But don’t worry — we’re sure there will be plenty of other lightsabers — as well as other merchandise — available for purchase on the Galactic Starcruiser, not to mention all the shopping guests can do in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge when the Starcruiser stops there for an excursion.
