Today at the Destination D23 event, an artist’s concept was revealed for the upcoming revamp of Downtown Disney District, beginning in 2022.

In January, 2022, the former AMC Theater will be removed and a whole new area will be built. This open, grassy area will provide a space for guests to relax as well as an area for some events that will be held in Downtown Disney.

Disney Parks Experiences and Products President Josh D’Amaro also mentioned that the shopping and dining in the area will be revitalized.
