2 Attractions Are Looking DIFFERENT in Disney World (Kind Of)

We’re checking in on all the big construction updates from Disney World this week!

Let’s see what’s going on around Disney World!

Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebration may have kicked off a month and a half ago, but Disney is still working to refurbish select attractions, resorts, and more to keep the parks in tip-top shape. And, today we’ve got more updates on a fan-favorite Magic Kingdom attraction, a roller coaster in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and more! Let’s get to it!

Magic Kingdom

Mickey’s PhilharMagic

Over in Magic Kingdom, Mickey’s PhilharMagic reopened at the beginning of the month after a short month-long closure to add in a brand new scene based on Pixar’s Coco. And, while guests could watch the show once again, the entrance sign was still getting some finishing touches when we checked in last week.

Before!

But, now the sign is looking even more complete! The music letters surrounding the name have been painted gold along with the banners pillars and now there is an extra sign underneath that says “The Kingdom’s Most Magical Musical Revue.”

More updates to the sign!

These new details can be found on all sides of the building certainly give the attraction a bit of a refresh from the outside!

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster

The front of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster has looked pretty different since September when Disney first started putting up a huge construction tarp to cover the guitar icon outside of the attraction. And, for the past few months, the big red guitar has been a big brown tarp.

Before…

But, the work is almost done and the guitar is BACK looking…well…pretty much the same. It’s a bit of a game of spot the difference, but some of the features that used to have a darker silver color now look lighter, and the guitar pick looks like it may have had some work done to it as well.

After!

So, it may not look all that different, but it still stands as a great icon for the ride! There are still a few more construction tarps around the bottom, so we’ll keep an eye out for any other changes that might be coming.

Disney Resorts

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

At Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, we noticed that one of the cars in the Cars-themed area of the hotel was covered and had gates around it.

Little bit of construction here!

We have previously seen Disney touch up the cars that surround the walkway, and this time the refurbishment is a bit of a mystery — what changes could be coming for this covered car?

Do YOU remember which car is under the tarp?

It’s likely just some painting and freshening up but we’ll keep an eye out to see if we spot anything new once construction is complete!

Disney’s BoardWalk Inn

And, work is continuing on the gravel walkways at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn. Construction walls are still up in certain areas of the resort, but there’s still plenty of room to get around if you’ll be staying here (or visiting to see the holiday decorations!).

BoardWalk construction is still going on!

That’s it for this week’s construction update! Of course, we’ll continue to keep you posted on all the new and upcoming changes in Disney World, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB for the latest!
