NEWS: Face Masks No Longer Required at Disney Stores

Disney has had a number of different health and safety requirements in their parks, hotels, and stores throughout the pandemic.

Mask Signage

Since Disney properties have reopened, we’ve seen a variety of requirements from temperature checks, physical distancing, face mask requirements, and more. Gradually, some of those requirements have been scaled back or disappeared completely. And now, another change is being made to how you shop in Disney stores.

Face coverings are no longer required at Disney stores, unless required by local regulation.

Previously, all guests ages 2 and older were required to wear face coverings in Disney stores. Now, Disney its just encouraging people ages 2 and older to wear face coverings.

Masks are still required inside stores in the Disney Parks, though!

Cast Members, however, are still required to wear face coverings at all times, regardless of vaccination status.

As a reminder to those who still want to wear a face covering while shopping, Disney says face coverings should be made with at least two layers of breathable material, fully cover the nose and mouth and secure under the chin, fit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face, and be secured with ties or ear loops and allow the Guest to remain hands-free.

Mask requirements

Guests do need to provide their own face coverings and the wearing of the mask doesn’t replace physical distancing, which should be practiced at all times, according to Disney.

And, again, if there is a local requirement, face coverings must be worn by Guests in accordance with the local regulation. Stay tuned to DFB for more Disney news and updates.
