Alicia Stella has shared screenshots on Twitter of the latest permits for Epic Universe, the new theme park coming soon to Universal Orlando Resort.
The permits are for project 905, building 1620 (indicated under the “name” column), which is thought to be part of a new The Wizarding World of Harry Potter land possibly inspired by “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.”
Previous permits listed the building as “a ride combination building,” according to Stella.
The permits are simply for “new construction,” so don’t give much information about what work is being done.
Epic Universe will be on Sand Lake Road in Orlando, a bus ride away from the rest of Universal Orlando Resort. Construction was delayed due to COVID-19 but has slowly restarted. The park is set to open “in a couple of years,” possibly as late as 2025. Although, Universal Orlando Resort is already surveying guests about hotel options connected to Epic Universe.
