What Is a Socially Distanced Oga’s Cantina in Disney World REALLY Like?!

We’re back exploring Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at the reopening of Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Oga’s Cantina with Modified Seating

It’s not a trip to Batuu without a pit stop at Oga’s Cantina! Disney pre-warned us that the dining experience would be a little different than it was prior to closing and we got to see what that was all about today!

Let’s start with the things that have stayed the same. Guests are still required to make a reservation via My Disney Experience in order to enter Oga’s. It’s best you make it as far in advance as you can! And yes, DJ R3X is still in there throwin’ mad beats.

Fairly Empty Oga’s Cantina

You’ll head to the restaurant once your reservation time arrived. Outside, is a QR code that you will scan with your phone camera. This will allow you to check-in for your reservation.

Mobile Dine Check In

Once inside, guests can stay for a maximum of 45 minutes. Guests are required to wear masks at all times except when they are eating or drinking.

Travel groups are spaced out between booths and standing tables. To keep physical distancing, guests are asked to not walk around the restaurant.

Carbon Freeze

We did visit pretty early in the day today, but overall the general experience at Oga’s felt different to us. While it was nice to be able to experience a crowd-less Oga’s, we felt that the atmosphere was a little different. People weren’t singing along to the music and things didn’t feel as upbeat and exciting.

Health and safety protocols will continue to change update as Disney World ramps up again. We will be sure to keep you updated as we experience new things in Galaxy’s Edge and beyond!
