Guests Can Now Virtually Pre-Register for Disneyland’s Disability Access Service

Lots of changes are being made over at Disneyland Resort.

Hello, Disneyland!

MagicBands will be coming to the resort in 2022, the return of various Disneyland After Dark events has been announced for next year, and Disney Genie+ will be available starting December 8th, 2021. Now, we’ve got an update on the Disability Access Service at Disneyland as well.

According to Disney’s own website, Disability Access Service (“DAS”) is a program offered at Disneyland resort to “assist Guests who have difficulty tolerating extended waits in a conventional queue environment due to a disability.” Through the DAS service, guests can request a return time for a specific attraction. The return time they’ll receive is comparable to the standby wait time.

The guest can then experience other things in the park and then enter through the attraction’s Lightning Lane once their return time begins. A few changes are coming soon to the DAS program at Disneyland that guests should know about.

First, guests are planning to visit the Disneyland Resort theme parks on or after December 20th, 2021, can now pre-register for DAS Advance virtually with a Cast Member. To do this, guests can use a live video chat. We first shared the news about this upcoming change back in August, but wanted to share an update since the pre-registration is now available.

Guests can pre-register for DAS Advance as early as 30 days prior to their park visit, but no less than 2 days before they arrive. During the video chat, guests will be able to work with a Cast Member to book some return windows for select experiences using the DAS Advance planning option.

Keep in mind that the guest who is requesting DAS must be present during registration (whether that is in-person or via the live video call). They must also be present when redeeming DAS selections in the park.

During their visit, guests who are registered for the DAS program will be able to get those return times from Cast Members at Guest Relations. For guests who pre-register and use DAS Advance, these return times will be in addition to the DAS Advance selections.

DAS Advance is a new, enhanced feature for the DAS program. It lets guests select and book up to 2 DAS Advance selections for each day of their trip. This is done during the DAS Advance video call. The return times will be available for a 1-hour period during the park visit. Again, note that DAS Advance selections will be available for park visits beginning on or after December 20th, 2021. Only guests who pre-register for DAS can get DAS Advance selections.

And there are more DAS changes on the way. The Disneyland website notes that the Same-Day DAS Return Time Self-Selection tool is coming soon. This tool will allow guests registered in the DAS program to make return time selections from the Disneyland app during their visit, rather than visiting a Cast Member to get a return time.

This technology will also allow guests using DAS to change or cancel their return times.

If you’ll be visiting Disneyland soon and plan on using the DAS program, keep these changes in mind. You can also click here to see how the DAS program at Disney World works with pre-registration. We’ll be on the lookout for more updates.
