Magic Kingdom
- The iconic “Fantasy in the Sky” fireworks will return to the skies of the Magic Kingdom on December 30th and 31st to ring in the new year!
- Work continues on the entrance walkway and canopy to TRON Lightcycle Run as it slowly chugs towards opening.
EPCOT
- New Year’s fireworks will also come to EPCOT, but only on December 31st and not as a tag for “Harmonious!”
- Painting and patch work continue on the former Universe of Energy pavilion building for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- Cast Member preview dates were announced for the return of the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular today.
Walt Disney World Resort Hotels
- We tried an excellent Chocolate Peppermint Yule Log over at Disney’s Contemporary Resort today.
- The Centertown Market at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort has a plain, just-fine Eggnog Cupcake that we tried as well today.
- Guests booked on the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser have begun receiving a “welcome video” ahead of the resort’s March 2022 opening.
- The refurbishment of Disney’s Yacht Club Resort will reportedly not be complete until this spring.
Other Walt Disney World News
- Spots for the runDisney Expedition Everest 5K and runDisney Springtime Surprise Challenge sold out within minutes today.
- Construction work continues on the Cast Member entrance to the Transportation and Ticket Center.
Disneyland Resort
- The “Disneyland Forever” fireworks spectacular will return to Disneyland Park sometime in spring 2022.
- In addition, “World of Color”, the “Main Street Electrical Parade”, and “Fantasmic!” are all slated to return to Disneyland Resort in the spring.
- “Tale of the Lion King” will also return to the Fantasyland Theater at Disneyland Park in the spring.
- As we initially reported yesterday, new Jessica Rabbit details and figures have been added to the queue and attraction itself at Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin.
- Following a rather disastrous launch day with Disney Genie and Genie+, we had a far better experience with the system today than yesterday.
- Outside the Star Wars Trading Post at Downtown Disney, we spotted a new “The Book of Boba Fett” photo spot themed to the bounty hunter’s throne from the upcoming series.
Tokyo Disney Resort
- A permanent production of the “Beauty and the Beast” stage musical will begin at the Maihama Amphitheater at the resort starting in October 2022.
New Merchandise
- There’s a new pin themed to the Abominable Snowman Funko POP! released a few years ago at Walt Disney World.
- Two new limited-release Mickey & Minnie 50th Anniversary figures have appeared at Crystal Arts in the Magic Kingdom.
- Our merchandise roundup from yesterday was pretty neat, featuring Alice in Wonderland phone cases, lots of new holiday items, plenty of jewelry, and more!
- Today’s merchandise roundup as well gave us an “Encanto” doll, more jewelry, an Apple Watch band, and more!
- New fluffy winter wear themed to everyone from Mickey Mouse to Kuzco is now on sale at the Disneyland Resort.

Movies & TV
- We got a first look today at “Strange World”, the 61st Walt Disney Animation Studios feature releasing next Thanksgiving.
- Jon Landau, producer of “Avatar 2”, revealed some new details about the upcoming film’s plot.
Disney+
- We caught a new trailer for “The Book of Boba Fett” premiering December 29th on Disney+ which included new footage!

- Former Disney CEO Bob Iger returned to his roots this morning by hosting a weather update on KABC in Los Angeles.
