Liberty Tree Tavern Dinner: Is It Worth It?

I grew up dining at Liberty Tree Tavern because my dad loved this restaurant when I was younger. He loved the family-style dining and the colonial theming of the restaurant. The last time I ate at this restaurant was back in 2017, and I remember feeling a lot of nostalgia. I recently returned to Liberty Tree Tavern since my wife had never been before, and I wanted her to experience this dining location. We aren’t huge fans of Thanksgiving dinner food, but Liberty Tree Tavern is an exception.

We had a reservation for dinner at 7:45pm, and we got sat at around 8pm since they were running behind on seating, but we were able to catch a glimpse of the fireworks. We were able to see and hear the fireworks from our table since we got a window seat, which was great and added to the dining experience. The current pricing for the restaurant is $39 per adult and $21 per child. Liberty Tree Tavern is an all-you-care-to-enjoy dining experience and is served family-style.

When I stepped into the restaurant, all the memories of when I was a kid and how this used to be a character dining location came to me; it made me smile. It reminded me why I love the restaurant so much. At Liberty Tree Tavern, they bring out three courses. The first course is the salad and rolls with butter. The second course is the platter, and the third is dessert.

Seasonal Vegetables, Mashed Potatoes, and Macaroni and Cheese

The salad they serve is called the Declaration Salad, which is mixed greens in a homemade dressing. The salad was crisp, and the homemade sauce was delicious. I think the homemade dressing was a balsamic type of dressing. It had an acidic base, which went well with the greens. The rolls they brought out were warm and soft. The butter melted perfectly. While we enjoyed the salad, we got excited about the next course because if the salad was this good, the next course would be even better.

In the second course, our server brought us the Patriot’s Platter, which had roasted turkey breast, pot roast, and oven-roasted pork along with mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, herb stuffing, and house-made macaroni and cheese. Our favorites from the platter were the turkey, oven-roasted pork, the herb stuffing, mashed potatoes, and macaroni and cheese. We enjoyed everything, but those were our favorites. I was blown away by the herb stuffing. I took one bite and fell in love. It was a great consistency and the flavors blended so well. I have many memories of loving the macaroni and cheese, so I was hoping it would be as good as I remembered. The macaroni and cheese was perfectly creamy. It wasn’t your basic Kraft Macaroni and Cheese; you could tell that work was put into it. I enjoyed the mashed potatoes because you could tell they were homemade. The mashed potatoes had the skins mixed in, and I love it when mashed potatoes are prepared that way. I am not a big fan of carved turkey, mainly because it’s been dry every time I’ve had it, but this turkey was different. The turkey in this platter wasn’t as dry as sandpaper, and it had a good flavor. It was presented without gravy, but they do bring it to the table if you’d like to drizzle gravy on the turkey or mashed potatoes. The oven-roasted pork had a creamy mushroom gravy poured over it. That mushroom gravy was delicious, and I wish we had extra in a gravy boat to drizzle on everything.

After enjoying this course, our server cleared the table and notified us that the dessert was on the way. Our server let us know that the dessert was excellent and a must-have. The dessert at Liberty Tree Tavern is an Oooey Gooey Toffee Cake. This dessert stole the show. We loved everything before dessert, but this dessert was a game-changer. This is a vanilla toffee cake with a chocolate sauce and covered in vanilla ice cream. I loved the mix of flavors between the toffee cake and the ice cream. This dessert didn’t stay on the table for long, and if we weren’t full to the brim, we would have ordered a second one.

I was so happy to eat at Liberty Tree Tavern with my wife and share my stories from when I was a kid. We truly enjoyed our meal and haven’t stopped talking about it. We can’t wait to return to Liberty Tree Tavern and make even more memories. I enjoyed this restaurant because the service was terrific, the food was terrific, and the cast members working at this location were outstanding. If you find yourself at Magic Kingdom or planning a Magic Kingdom day, and you enjoy family-style dining, this is the place to go. I can not recommend this dining location enough. You won’t leave hungry!
