As the new Omicron variant spreads across the country, the state of Florida has broken its own daily record for number of new COVID-19 cases.

Florida reported 31,758 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, breaking a record for the most cases in one day since the start of the pandemic in the United States in March 2020, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
